I started at 4 moths. Cereal for a week and then on to fruits and veggies.

Would do it the same with another baby

I started DS on solids at 5 mos. Cereal, added fruit, fruit alone, now veggies. DD was just shy of 5 mos.

We started dd at 4 months. No regrets. She continued to breastfeed normally. At that age she didn't eat much anyway, it was mostly just practice for her to take food off a spoon and swallow.

We started at 4 months and had to stop after a few days bc DS just hated it. We waited a couple more weeks, till around 5 months and he took to it much better. Depends on the baby. But I did not regret starting him.

Personally, I would but solids off as soon as possible because of all the info about open and closed gut. I think 6 months is a guideline as when to start, so I would try to get as close to that point as possible.

Agree with this. Plus I find solids be a PITA that early on.

18-20 oz is a lot. I'm assuming BM because you said you can't keep up? Unless you're working 12 hour shifts, she might be overfed. 1-1.5 oz for every hour you're gone.

Yes, she is breastfed, and yes, I am gone for 12-14 hours a dayChat Icon

I am going to try rice cereal today and see how it goes. She is almost 5.5 months. Hopefully she is ready!
