I've done a decent amount of traveling and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything by starting a family.

The one thing DH and I wanted before I got pregnant was to own a house. House hunting did not go as well as we had hoped though and I didn't want to put off TTC. After 13 months of house hunting, we finally found a house. We're having work done on it right now and we'll be moving in soon. It's not the most ideal situation since I'll be moving at almost 9 months pregnant, but I'm really glad we'll be in the house before arrives.

I did everything I could have ever wanted to do but I didn't finish some stuff- it can be achieved after children. For example, I finished my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy but I didn't get my license until after the birth of my DD(the exams were killer).

Before DD, we
bought a home
I travelled to Australia and Thailand(both before I even met DH)
I got two Master Degrees
Had my career settled.

But I also got married at 35 and pregnant at 37 so I had a lot of "life" before that

Nope. But a lot of the stuff on my list has re-prioritized.

I have traveled a lot, but there is still more I want to see. But, I think I did enough to placate me for now.

Career wise, I wanted to get to a place where I felt happy--but, I slowly got disillusioned from my career path because of the demands. I still love what I do, but not happy about how it's done. For now, I am taking the time I need and will go back to work FT probably in another year. We shall see what transpires.

I think being a parent will totally change my life, but I don't think there is anything that I WISH I did, that I didn't. I think we all continue to evolve, and our list of "things to do" changes as we do.

I would have to say yes.

My main thing was buying a home before any babies. We are still getting things done, but I think everything will be complete in our house by the time baby arrives.

It would have been nice to own a home and be more financially stable, but what can you do.

God has his own plan for you

NOPE! Since DD is a surprise (a wonderful one ) I was caught off guard.
I just turned 30 in September, for months before that I was going through a phase of "what I must do before turning 30", then BOOM I found out I was pregnant. We do own our house and are financially stable (could always use more $ of course!)
I do think about all the things I wanted to do but now probably can't because I am going to be a mother and have to put my child first (things that would put myself in risk).. but I have since accepted the fact and is now somewhat content, can't wait to be mommy to my

No, but lots of what I want to do includes doing it with my children. I feel that since having my DD and one on the way that my life is really just beginning.

We own our home but I wish we had more money in the bank. In this economy, I am just thankful for what we do have

I owned a house which I sold about a year ago. I am now renting since I moved to a new area and actually the house I am living in is for sale so we will see what happens with that. This pregnancy was very much planned for(IVF) and while I can't say we've done all the traveling we would like we hope to enrich our kids by doing lots of traveling with them.

I didn't have a "must-do" list before having a baby. To me, life doesn't stop just because I am a mom. I have travelled over quite a bit of the world and I would gladly go back to a lot of the same places with my son and husband. It would be an entire NEW experience with my son.

Absolutely! We've travelled a ton, partied a lot, bought a home, got married and saved a bunch of money.

Nothing left to do but have a family!

there are a lot of things i still want to do in life, but i never thought of pregnancy as a milestone that i would want to achieve these things before it happened... i just figured they would get done anyway (ie. owning a home, going to europe with DH, paying off student loans)

although i did think it was important to be financially stable

I did a lot (travelled, own a home) but there is still one thing left on my list that I don't foresee happening before DC is here... passing my CPA exam. I am a little disappointed in myself, but it will get done... eventually.

After a m/c where we weren't really trying, and seeing many of my good friends and family struggle trying to get pregnant, I just decided that I didn't want to wait anymore.

I am thrilled that I am pregnant............

I dont have a house ...
DH works construction ... he has steady work but it is not guaranteed....
We have debt...
We dont own a new car.....
With all this being said.....
I feel that my pregnancy is my greatest realization.....

I have worked within a very elite circle of women...

They have park ave apts. hampton summer homes...

Have traveled everywhere....

And many of them are miserable....

Some have spent 100K or more to get pregnant... and have not succeeded...

Others have gone so far....as to travel across the globe to Russia and China to adopt children...

And here I am.....

with almost nothing but a huge heart for my baby..............

For me the baby takes precedent over all....

I grew up POOR and when I mean POOR we were POOR

I was the first one to graduate college in my entire family....

I never had trendy clothes most were hand me downs and the like.....

I LOVED my childhood there was so much love and attention given to us....

I want the same type of love for my baby....


The great wall of china will still be there and so will the beautiful beaches in Aruba....

I never had a list of things I wanted to do. I certainly enjoyed my life before children, had a great time with DH alone, and just felt that it was time and we were ready. I was never one of those people that had to have all her ducks in a row before having kids. It all works out!

HA! Good question. Definitely not. Of course there are things I still had on my list, but that doesn't mean I won't get to them some day. My list tends to be more of a "before I die" as opposed to "before I have kids." But I don't have any regrets about it - was planned after all.

Nope. I got pregnant with my daughter very young, so there wasn't really any time. I thought about waiting to do some more of the things I wanted before baby #2, but we both felt like we wanted the baby more than any of the other things. I don't think I'd change our situation for the world though. I love being a young mother.

-Finish college (I'm still going...)
-Own a home
-Travel
-Have spent even just a couple of months alone as a married couple (never happened since DD was 2 at our wedding)

for the most part yes....

-purchased a home(actually ended up selling it to move into a home that had a better layout) staying within half hour drive of family
-married a long amount of time(originally we would have had kids earlier, but with moving houses we pushed it back, then i had two losses) We'll be married 4 1/2 years when im due and it gave me lots of time to really appreciate my husband
-airplane trip with dh(when we got married we drove to fl) last year he surprises me and actually got on a plane with me to vegas- he loved it so much he was actually willing to go back this year!

Lifes not perfect. Yes, it would be nice to have more money. It would be nice to buy a coach bag(I'd feel to guilty). But overall I am very happy and appreciative of the life i have now and the people that surround me.
