Re: Stork for lawn?
I answered my own question, there was a case of abduction because of a stork.
I attached it, if anyone wants to read.
There is other interesting info of things to avoid in the days home from the hospital regarding infant kidnappings.

Re: Stork for lawn?
I personally dont like them but to each their own. There was a story a year or so ago about some nut who kidnapped a newborn and it turns out he saw the stork and went after that house specifically. I dont remember the specifics but know there was definitely a news story about storks etc

Re: Stork for lawn?
Something can happen whether you have one or not. That is like people who "decorate" the outside of their house for a wedding. People say it advertises that you are not home. To answer your question...not sure yet if we are getting one. Haven't really thought about it.

Re: Stork for lawn?
I wanted one, but then there was that crazy lady who killed the new mom and abducted the new baby in the midwest. She had seen the stork on the lawn and it was so sad..............
I did not have one for DS and I am not having one for this baby either.

This is the story that a pp mentioned. It happened in 2006 in Missouri right after DS was born. We were living in St. Louis at the time and it was scary b/c we had a stork sign. However, it isn't in the link above but, the kidnapper knocked on the door and asked to use the phone and the mother let her in. Yes, the woman went to the house b/c of the stork but the mother let a stranger into her house!!!!
Oh, and I believe the mother lived.
We will probably still get a stork sign this time around too. I'm not too concerned.

While they're cute, I won't be getting one. I've heard the same thing about kidnapping & theft, but it's really just not my personal style...that & I also don't want to broadcast it to all of my neighbors. The ones that we talk to will get the scoop right from us.
I agree!
