Oh no!!! I'm so sorry you're going through this. I had a miscarriage that dragged on for four weeks before it finally happened. I remember just wanting it to end when it was clear the baby wasn't going to make it. I totally feel your pain. Sending hugs to you.

Re: Super Low Beta - So Frustrating :( - 3/17 Update, Possible Ectopic
I'm so sorry to read your latest update. When betas are not rising the right way, it's almost worse when they continue to go up. I went through something very similar last year. Positive pregnancy test but beta was not rising appropriately. My doctor was also worried about ectopic. They sent me to Zwanger for a detailed ultrasound at a little over 5 weeks and they could see that the sac was in my uterus. Although my numbers kept rising slowly, pregnancy was not viable. By 6 1/2 weeks it was still just an empty sac and my beta was under 1,000 when it should have been much higher. I ended up needing a D & C. If you start to have pain, call your doctor right away. How far along are you now? They should be able to see something soon.

Thanks guys!
I think I would just be starting my 5th week. The thought of getting to try again in April was getting me through this but now that's not looking as likely, blah! So far I feel okay, praying it stays like that until this is figured out and handled!

They should be able to do a sono soon just to see where the sac is. If nothing else, it could help to rule out an ectopic.

It's starting to hit me that if I have to take the methotrexate shot the earliest we can try again is June. My heart hurts .

Re: Super Low Beta - So Frustrating :( - 3/17 Update, Possible Ectopic
at this rate, it really is too soon to tell. I had a similar situation a couple of months back. My beta was super low, and doubling, then not doubling over and over for about 2 weeks. I was told it could be ectopic. Finally when I should have been about 6w5d they did find a small sac lying low in the uterus and measuring 5w1d. It was not ectopic. It just took a while to run its course. I finally MC naturally and without any physical pain at 7w1d. It wasn't a happy ending, but it was better than ectopic.

Thanks for your input. I'm worried about waiting and having to need surgery again (a D&C if not ectopic). The fact that they've already brought up the shot makes me think they're not in favor of waiting and seeing. I'd so much rather this take it's course naturally if possible. The waiting and wondering is tough. What are they even going to see tomorrow with numbers so low? Could they really find the sac somewhere else during tomorrow's scan?

Super Low Beta - So Frustrating :( - 3/17 Update, Possible Ectopic
My last FET wa with rising beta's similar to this. My RE was concerned it was ectopic and sent me for a more thorough sono at radiology and they couldn't find anything anywhere. I wasn't bleeding or in pain and he wanted me to do a methotrexate shot. It was a Friday and I was going to do it Monday. I started bleeding that Saturday and went in and my beta dropped significantly so I never did the shot. I was hesitant to take it because I was told we would have to put of TTC for 3-4 months because of the medicine. I'm so grateful I didn't do it because I conceived my son on the next IUI cycle I did.

Thanks for sharing your story! I wish this would work out in a similar way!

I'm not sure. I do think if they can rule out ectopic, you can definitely ask them to stop all meds and see if your body miscarries naturally. Sometimes, the meds can prevent your body from miscarrying and when you stop it takes over. I can understand why you would prefer that over the shot or a d & c. Have they retested your levels?

Thanks for your reply. I wish my doctors would let me wait like you were able to. Do you remember how high your numbers got?
