I'm surprised at how many people say that the store should have given you a different bag after knowing you opened it.
Me too.
I would probably have thrown them away. If I REALLY wanted carrots I would have had her ring up two bags and gone and got a second bag of carrots.

I think you will be ok because you boiled them in hot water but I am not gonna lie- I would have tossed them!

If you go to the supermarket often enough, I would actually return them. Why should you pay for food that was thrown all over the scanner?

as someone who worked in a supermarket for 4 years... i would throw them out
all kinds of meat gook gets on that scanner area -- that alone would make me want to throw them away!
and yes -- her hands were probably covered in a million germs
