Re: The Husband (or Wife) Experiment: Next goal page 4

So I got DH his favorite health food - acai juice and quinoa - and he offered to make me lunch. Granted, lunch was quinoa (it's sort of like cous cous), which isnt my favorite dish, but we added some fresh herbs and I added butter and olive oil - which will make ANYTHING taste good.

His dad and brother (in town visiting) came by and I told him to spend a lot of time at the pub with them - I would watch Ainsley. Well I guess he really appreciated it because the next morning he let me sleep in and took Ainsley on a morning walk and picked up Bacon Egg and Cheese sandwiches, cat food and the morning paper. SWEET!

My goal for wednesday - I'm going to stop at Grand Central market on my way home from work and get fresh salmon for dinner on Tuesday.

Re: The Husband (or Wife) Experiment: Next goal page 4

Ok.. i tried this weekend!
1. On friday night he came home from work and 1/2 hour later asked if he could go mountaining biking I I said" Sure go have fun" even though I was home with two kids ALL day. He didn't come home untill 9:00 pm!
2. I made his favorit dinner. (my DD is 6 weeks old and I have not cooked dinner in 6 weeks!)
3. After being tired all day at night I just wanted to go to bed but stayed up for a lil bit for some uummmmm....activitiesChat Icon

Saterday morning woke up to him complaining to me about what I should be doing and what his friends wives do and what I don't do!!!!!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

So I let him have it and spilled the beans about the experiment....

and THEN finally got the "I LOVE YOU.... YOU REALLY ARE THE BEST WIFE....... I"M JUST REALLY STRESSED LATELY........ I"M SORRY....." blah blah blah.......

ssooooo..... I dunno... the experiment only worked for me when I had to clue him in on what exactly I was doing!

I'm def gonna keep trying though becouse one of the big things that bothers him is when I go out on Saterday night with my girlfriends..... I will continue all this week and see how he reacts to me going out Saterday night....

2 thoughtful things by Wednesday:

Hmmmm....

I'll make sure to thank him for whatever he does around the house. With a kiss.

I'm stumped on a second thoughtful thing...how sad is that???

Ok, so I did 2 of my 3 things this weekend and DH did appreciate it. But He's away for work all week until late Thursday or early Friday. I'm not sure how I could fit in 10 things. Chat Icon And I'm not sure I can even think of 10 things. Ugh!

Well i wasn't great about my 3. I did make dinner, but got pizzed when he called and told me he would be home in 15 minutes, and came home an hour later and didn't call.

I didn't do the others, but I did do other nice things.

Today I didn't call DH to find out when he would be home. I know he hates when I keep calling him to ask where he is.

I will make dinner this week.

Wednesday is my anniversary. Maybe I will do something special for him. We don't usually do gifts because we are trying to save $$- but maybe I will get him a little something.

I actually savd this post from last week and didn't get to read it through until tonight so I am starting late.... i am going to try the 3 nice things for Wednesday, but it will be including Wed. since I am starting late.
I know my 1st thing is not to complain about ANYTHING...lately all I do is complain and we have been fighting daily.

Re: The Husband (or Wife) Experiment: Next goal page 4

The end of the weekend was much better than the start although the roles reversed, which was fine with me.

DH:
- actually finished setting up Roman's new furniture and closet, finished the closet in the nursery and took Roman with him to Lowes to purchase all of the supplies

- let me sleep in, emptied the clean dishes out of the dishwasher while feeding Roman breakfast (at 7:45am I was just too curious when I heard him asking Roman why he didn't want his cereal. Come to find out he gave him a pasta bowl size of fruit loops, oye!)

- put all of his toiletries away after using them in the bathroom, and didn't leave dried up toothpaste and shaving creme around the sink. There was actually towels on the towel rack, the bath mat was on the tub and not soaking wet with shoe dirt on it, and toilet paper on the holderChat Icon Chat Icon

Now that deserves some appreciationChat Icon

So how is everyone doing with it?

I barely saw DH these past few days since he worked late. I was still able to get in my 1,000,000 things.

Ok it wasn't really a million but it should count as that much. Last night he worked until midnight. He called me from Penn to tell me the next train was after 1am. I told him to take a different line & I'd pick him up.

So at 1:23am, I was at a desolate, strange train station in my pjs. We got home after 2am. I woke up at 5:30am to drive him to the train station (since his car was parked in the train parking lot).

Experiment aside, I may have done it anyway because I hate that he'll pay $75+ for a cab to come home.

I think I deserve a treasure chest of jewelry but will settle for a few nice gestures back.Chat Icon

Re: The Husband (or Wife) Experiment: Next goal page 5

I saw a chance for an "on the fly" goal yesterday.

DH came home smelling like cigarettes Chat Icon

BUT instead of chewing him out I just said "I'm sorry you had a bad day, honey."

I gave him a hug, told him to shower before he could have Logan and calmly said "Even though I didn't make a big deal out of it today, you know I'm not okay with you smoking, right."

He said yes and apologized and we had a nice night instead of crazy fighting.

And I got a full massage before bed without even asking.

I'm going to work on not nagging for the next couple of days and cut out the sarcasm (a big step for me).

My MIL is staying with us for two weeks. She was home sleeping. Well sleeping until Maddie heard me leaving & ran to open the door to wave good-bye.

It's been super busy around here.

Both DC's are napping on completely opposite schedules these past few days... teething is really bothering DS so I haven't had much time to do anything.

I did give him a foot rub Monday night and made the bed two mornings before he came back upstairs to shower. That's one of his few inside chores right now.

Oh, I mentioned nothing about how stupid his fav new show isChat Icon

Excellent work! He'll be serving you dinner in no time flat.Chat Icon

Chin up, move forward. Try to think of something - even if you don't feel it (which is the point of the experiment).
