The past 2 days have been horrible...just a vent
I went to the beach on Saturday with Rylan, my mom, 2 sister's and nephew. I wasn't even that hot but I ended up with the worst sunburn of my life. I was sitting up the whole time so it's my legs, arms and back. My legs are so swollen that when you press on them it leaves an indent. If I sit or lay down for a long period of time and then stand I get the worst pain in my legs. It actually brings tears to my eyes sometimes. I can hardly function...can't wear normal clothes....it just s*cks!!!!
The worst part of it is I can't take care of Rylan properly. He is constantly hurting me and I end up yelling out in pain and pushing him away. It's horrible...he has no idea why he can't play with me like he always does. I actually had to leave the room a few times because he hurting me so bad. I can't give him his nightly baths because I can't kneel down. I've just been a lousy mom since saturday

What we used to do as kids when we got bad sunburn is put regular noxema on it. Always seemed to help.
Make sure you are putting something on it or else you'll peel pretty badly.

I know...I was stupid. I was just one of those days you don't think the sun is that strong. I definitely learned my lesson!!!!

Yikes! I'm sorry you're in pain in so much pain! It's so hard when we are sick or hurt and can't take care of our DC the way we usually do! Feel better soon :)

I think we've all been there, I know I have. If you put anything on, don't use creams, they keep the heat in. Try aloe, and take some aspirin, it should take off some of the edge. I was also told after getting sun poisoning once, to use vitamin E capsules. Break them open, and rub them into your skin. Fee better, I know how much it hurts!!

Oooooh Dawn I am SO SORRY! I have done the same stupid thing so many times. Tylenol helps as does that blue jelly stuff they sell at CVS - it's kind of like the green aloe gel they sell but it has more of a cooling thing in it that helps numb the pain a bit. Man, I wish I remebered the name of it!!! Keep slathering it on NON-STOP!! Feel better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

use rubbing alcohol it works like a charm for me. Put it on a cotton ball or something soft Noxema holds in the heat on me!! Feel better soon

Soak in an oatmeal bath and then apply lots of aloe and take a couple of Advil. It should help a little bit. Feel better.

Oh I'm horrible with putting the sunscreen on me since DD arrived - as long as she's covered I'm fine, but now this is a reminder of the consequences on not taking care of mommy.
Definitely take some tylenol or aspirin and get some aloe - hopefully you will feel better soon!

do you have lidacane? or aloe with lidacaine in it?? even noxema. something to take the burn off. cold compresses help too with the swelling.
i got the crap burned out of me in hawaii on a kayaking disaster..i know your pain. it was so afwul, and that was with sunblock!
i would get to a dr. if you dont see any improvement in the next day or so.

I am freakishly pale (but have learned to embrace my paleness  ) I have always burned badly. I would recommend Advil ( or another anti inflammatory) cold compress followed my vinegar. Yes you will smell like an Easter egg but it is the only thing that helps me. Good luck and feel better
