Things your dog had chewed up in your house
As we all know, dogs explore the world by sniffing & chewing.
I got up a few days ago around 3:30am to sounds of chewing. When I got up, I saw my furbaby chewing up DH's Timberlands...YIKES!!! The stuffing was all over the place!!! ahhhh!
What's been the things your dog has chewed up?
Mine has gone through the following: * The cord to an iron (I was watching her as I watched TV. One second, he was chewing a dog toy; the next second, it was the ironing cord)
* The four corners of our bed comforter (not all one one day). We were due to buy a new one anyway
*Every bed we had bought her... (5 of them--including a crate pillow)
*DH boots (but that was his fault because he left them out in the living room instead of putting them away)
*Socks (if we leave the closet door open, she will get into the socks basket and take one)
*DH work out pants (his fault again because he left them over the dinning room chair )
*A stuffed animal
*Corners of the only two area rugs we own. One I don't care about because DH mom bought it fo rus and it is UGLY!!!!
*Our bedroom curtain ---the expensive one from Pottery Barn (ask me how she managed to make a hole in the center and not rip the damn thing
*4 out of 6 toss pillows from Crate and Barrel that were on top of the sofa (again...only the corners)
*Every leash she has owned
*Her harness (3 of them)
* I pair of jeans (well only the top buckle---DH again )
*DH slippers (again his fault)

Re: Things your dog had chewed up in your house
several shoes and purses ....she loves leather!
my underwear...she is a perv. I have little teeth holes in a bunch of my undies
the moldings in our appt
the table legs
throw pillows
hmm...i know there is more but i can't think of it all right now..
edited to add that she has also done a lot of damage from digging esp as a puppy (put holes in the couch and ripped throw blankets), but the best was when she burrowed herself into our box spring. I noticed she was missing and was calling her/looking for her for a good 10 minutes until i sat on the bed and felt movement and realized she was IN the bed. She had burrowed herself in there but then got stuck! I had to rip the bottom of the boxspring off so i could get her out. There were all kinds of sharp wood and wires in there that it was so lucky she didnt hurt herself! poor puppy was shaken up

Holy cow, that is scary!!
Luckily, our list isn't that bad, but Brinkley not only chews, he swallows. So if he swallowed most of the stuff on your lists, we would have been looking at lots of surgeries.
3 of my leather flats (one pair and one shoe from the pair that replaced that pair)
2 pairs of slippers - just the backs
2 beds/crate pads - completely shredded
1 blanket - just a corner
Every toy that has entered our house that is not hard as a rock
Remote control for our receiver
One corner of our leather couch cushion
A wood and fabric napkin holder
A toilet paper roll
In the office, Brinkley will pick up anything and everything from the floor. Including bits of paper, staples, paper clips, pens, hair ties, chopsticks. I have to do a sweep of the office before I let them roam, to make sure there is no food to steal or objects on the floor to chew!

Re: Things your dog had chewed up in your house
I am so very, very lucky - my dog doesn't chew anything that isn't hers.
However the dog my family had once chewed the battery from a video camera (the rechargeable kind that clips into the back of the camera).
My aunt's dog iis probably the dumbest dog I have ever known (a big mush though) and he has chewed/eaten the craziest things - including the downspouts from the gutters! He chewed them right off the side of the house.

Re: Things your dog had chewed up in your house
Ohhh you are not alone... let's see what they have destroyed....
-They've gone garbage diving many times, actually chewed the top of the garbage can once after knocking it over.
-Tissues from the garbage in the bathroom- I always see Lucy sneak into the bathroom and then run into her crate to hide the fact that she's eating tissues.
-Glue Mouse Trap. Yupp- I heard this weird clapping noise and I called Irwin. He comes running up the stairs, clapping all the way. He was trying to eat the peanut butter off the glue trap and it got stuck to his foot.
-Maybe 5 different dog beds.
-Socks, underwear, bras, tank tops- Lucy takes them out of the laundry basket in the bathroom. Please note I *always* close the bathroom door and DH never understand why I yell at him when he forgets.
-Innumerable pairs of shoes.
-My old family dog from when I was a kid actually ate kitchen tiles. I mean WHOLE tiles that she ripped off the floor.
-The same dog who ate the tiles also ate the loveseat... and my parakeet- though he lived briefly after the incident.
-Irwin ate a rebate check from a computer we bought. When I called to tell them the check was "destroyed" and I'd need a replacement the woman had a good chuckle over HOW it was destroyed.
-Irwin also got electrocuted from chewing on a cable wire. Like someone said one second he's chewing a squeaky toy, next thing he yelps and runs across the room to hide in a corner. I only know he chewed the cord from examining it.
-Lucy likes to chew on DH's baseball caps. He leaves them on the banister of the stairs and she takes them off and hides them in her crate.
-Lucy also likes to chew my nails. When we play and she play bites my hands (yeah, I know I shouldn't let her, but I do) she eventually stops chewing the fingers and just bites my nails.
-Lucy also likes to bite the diamond on my engagement ring! But that doesn't fly with me!
ETA:
-Lucy has chewed many throw pillows.
-Lucy has also eaten one x-box remote and headset.
-Lucy has also eaten TWO time warner cable remotes in like 2 weeks, too. The second time it was the same guy and he asked me what hapened to the last remote. I dumped the buttons and bits of plastic on his desk. That's what happened.

Re: Things your dog had chewed up in your house
My dog has only done 2 destructive things in the house--and they were both when he was over a year old and I thought we were in the clear. When we were first starting to give him a little freedom (instead of the ex-pen). He chewed the windowsill. I was gone for 2 hours and left him the chair (he likes to look out) and he did that. Needless to say, he went back to the pen for a while and we never leave the chair by the window again.
Then very recently, after he turned 2 and has had free reign of 2 rooms for a while now, he started to chew at molding in the kitchen. He peed near the spot, too, so DH and I think he had to pee really bad (DH had a longer work day than expected) and was doing it out of frustration. I've been spraying that corner with bitter apple now.
I guess we're lucky to have so little damage though. He's a cavalier king charles, so he's a little guy. He'll steal socks and undies, but doesn't chew them. He actually takes them to his bed.
ETA: He'll chew through some of his stuffed animals. He likes to work at things like ears, or those little tags and usually opens them up. But once he hits stuffing, he's done with them. I think he likes the challenge.

How big is she? What breed?
Ours is a black lab/hound mix. We think she has pointer in her as well. When she sees a bird she will stop, become very still and point. Her body looks like a straight line. She won't chase the birds, but point. A lot like the photo below, except that she is black. You can see her in my photo album.Image Attachment(s):

she is a 15 lb Pug...she was still a puppy when that happened so she was probably only at like 10 lbs at the time.

My slippers
DH's slippers
One of our couches (thankfully just the cushions and they can be re-piped)
Every single bed we have bought him
Chew toys - especially his gumby, nyla bone and stuffed animals
Socks - DH's dirty ones that he will pull out from the hamper and my clean ones that he snags from my gym bag.
I have to say we're pretty lucky with Shea. He doesn't chew on much.

Re: Things your dog had chewed up in your house
Oh dear Lord... For the record, she hasn't really chewed anything in a long time, but she's an old lady now. The list: Our coffee table Cedar Chest The Wall Numerous leashes Chapstick She got into the Halloween Bucket one year and at about 30 treat bags -removed candy from the treat bags and then ate the candy out of the wrappers Pillows - she still does that occasionally Blankets Any and every stuffed toy, amazingly she doesn't touch DS's
and the best of all (those of you who have been on here for a long time will remember)
a bottle of gorilla glue - which resulted in her having stomach surgery to have the 1.5 pound ball of glue removed from her stomach. Luckily, we caught it within a few hours or she would not have made it. I shudder every time I see a bottle on a shelf in the store.

OMG! I would die if my furbaby would have eaten the glue i am so glad she is ok. I couldn't even imagine
As far as the candy, I haven't had that experience.....yet!! but my neighbor who has an 11 1/2 months puppy made 35 cupcakes for her son for a Halloween party at his school and left them out overnight (she fell asleep and forgot that she left them out). When she got up, her puppy had eaten all cupcakes, a bag of cherries she also left out, and a bag of chips....
can you imagine!! She took the puppy to the vet and she was told that the puppy was ok and not further care was needed.
She was lucky! After that incident, I try to be very careful with whatever I leave out. I can't say the same for my DH of DD....
