This feeling always is scary to me - shortness of breath
Even if I'm not doing anything but laying on the couch, chatting to my mom on the phone...I feel a sense of shortness of breath, or constricted breathing.
I feel like it's hard to take a full deep breath these days, and it always causes me a bit of anxiety.

Re: This feeling always is scary to me - shortness of breath
I have been feeling the same way lately too. Plus I've had hypochondria and anxiety for YEARS that there's something wrong with me and I cannot breathe ... but actually being short of breath is so scary sometimes.
I know it's "normal," but have you mentioned this to your OB?
Feel better

I suffered from panic attacks before, so I think that's why it bugs me a little bit more, too.
It just started a couple of days ago, but I will be mentioning it at next week's visit.
I figured if I posted about it, I'd feel better knowing that others find it uncomfy, too!

I have this often (and I'm not pregnant yet), totally related to anxiety for me.

Re: This feeling always is scary to me - shortness of breath
this happens to me now that I am pregnant.
I did read it has to do with you heart beating the extra 2 lbs of blood through your body. It especially happens to me when I go up or down stairs.
Before pregnancy, I didn't have this issue. Now it makes me feel immensely out of shape and like a fat arse... but I know it's pregnancy related.

Well I totally relate to that too! I just try to remember that so much of what's happening to me physically is NORMAL. But when I need the extra reassurance, I ask my doctor. Or, post on here.

I get this pretty often. Its just the position of the baby. If the baby shifts up a bit, he/she is pushing up on your lungs, which means you can't take a full breath.

I have asthma so I know the feeling all too well. - And it gets worse when I'm PG - It's normal to feel short of breath though, esp. b/c there's a whole PERSON living inside you moving sh*t around and disrupting everything !!

i have been feeling so short of breath lately too. it gets scary when i can't get a breath "through". last night i had a bit of a panic attack from it. i really hope the baby drops soon and that it helps me to breathe better. it's making me EXTRA tired too

Re: This feeling always is scary to me - shortness of breath
I'm pregnant with twins and I'm short of breath just sitting at my desk. My co-worker yesterday said, "You feel that way just sitting there?" and I do!!! I'm only 20 weeks and have a long way to go!
