What changes in your protocol did the doc do?

Doc is doing RPL panel on me currently so I don't have all the answers to that yet and he hypothesized that although he doesn't see evidence of me needing lovenox in the bloodwork results from old, he might put me on it next time as my body is telling us something.

I have done thrombophilia testing in past - all that came up with MTFHR Hetero and 4G4G. I went on metformin and aspirin with old doc last year for which I had 1 pregnancy out of 3 transfers resulting in MC. This new doc didn't think it was needed or that it even helps, so I didn't take it on his transfer, which resulted in pregnancy on first go around but then MC.

I have hashimotos and take synthroid - it was tightly monitored this time - on 200mg - BIG dose.

I have had a laparoscopy 2 years ago with a d &c, removal of external fibroids on uterus and endometriosis, plus polyp on cervix.

I am trying not to overthink this all but thought to ask opinions. I could have had the m/c's because the embryos were no good...however out of 8 embryos transferred I only had 2 pregnancies and lost them both early on so I am a little doubtful.

I am afraid to go on Lovenox if blood work doesn't indicate it. It feels like we are slinging mud at the wall and seeing what sticks.

I cannot test the sperm as I used a donor.

I have had every physical test imaginable except for an endometrial biopsy.

And I have 4 embryos left and then this is it -finito, 3 years painful journey over with.

Thoughts? Recommendations?

how many different docs have you met with? have you gotten 2,d/3rd-6th opinions? that often helps give insight, even if you decide to stay with your current RE.

Since the 2nd MC, no other opinions. I switched docs from Rs of NY Dr. Stelling to Dr. San Roman, NSLIJ. I love Dr. San Roman and he got me pregnant right away on the first FET.

Dr. San Roman felt when I had my consult that I was in the middle range of norms when it comes to IVF success rates and that we just needed to try again with better transfer and monitoring of levels. It did work. I just lost it. I know some folks think 2 MC's isn't a huge amount - I am 37/38 soon.

I don't know what to think....I don't want to overanalyze and just do what he says I suppose..

All RE's that I have met with, including Dr. Zapantis for consult, plus Stelling plus San Roman all think the metformin for 4G4G is a waste of time, even though I did take it all last year during some IUI's and IVF's as per my OBGYN who consulted with a perinatologist for the thrombophilia testing.

I don't have coverage for Braverman and not interested in going to NYC.

Just wondering what everyone else did with their protocols and had positive success.

i had three miscarriages with RS of NY, switched to Cornell and i have a 3 month old baby girl. Sometimes i think its not just the protocol but the labs. Good luck!!

As someone with a lot of experience with this I bel the protocol has something to do with it but also agree it can be the labs as well as the actual transfer itself . You can have a perfect embryo and if the transfer is not perfectly done it won't take . Was a true mock transfer done so te mapping is known and day of it goes very smooth. Do they know the shape and direction in which your uterus is facing . And if they are doing rhe mock transfer , the same one performing your transfer ?

I didn't have miscarriages while doing IVF; I just kept having failed cycles. I had an endometrial biopsy which helped this one stick as well as Lovenox. I know some women including yourself is afraid of the Lovenox but it's not bad. It's quick and I administer it myself.

Jobel, you are correct. The lab, the transfer, the protocol, all important components to a successful pregnancy. I feel with this doc I got the lab and transfer down solid as our trial was great and he will be the only person transferring. We are working on protocol.

All good points. Thanks TyRese for the reassurance. I guess I will see what the RPL says and inquire about a biopsy also.

Re: Those with 2 or more miscarriages with IVF/FET...

Hoping , it sounds like we go the same dr . I to had the endometrial biopsy , never even heard of it prior to this one and is supposed to really help. And my transfer was so super smooth where with my last practic was a hot mess . They had too many dr. And I didn't like that. Plus the one who did my transfer never ever saw me or my body before and the transfer went awful.

I had the same prior experience!! First IVF was a nightmare - 4 cathethers he used trying to get it in and then I was moved to a surgery table for additional recline. I no surprise didn't get pregnant...such ********.

This doc had no problems doing the trial - no problems at all. I was led to believe it was my fault at RS of NY.

I had two mc, but after iui's. The difference in protocol that resulted in dd was Lovenox, baby aspirin, and progesterone in oil.

Thank you Michelle for sharing that. Sounds like I will be on the right track then.

I had 2 chemicals. I then did Intralipids, Lovenox and different combo of meds and had my DD. You are on the right track! Hugs to you!

I had 3 chemicals before I was blessed with my daughter.

I have Hashimotos, MTHFR and low AMH.

To be 100% honest with you, I took my synthroid religiously, I took a baby aspirin and I went on a strictly gluten free diet.

My Dr. (Dr. Zapantis) didn't think that Lovenox was necessary for me.

Try going gluten free. I swear by it.

Best of luck to you!

I had 2 chemicals. I was on HGH, intralipids, and Prednisone when I finally got my miracle.

For those who took lovenox, what was the medical reason for it?
