I think he would great ON PAPER. But his success as a business man has really been a trial over the years. He has had A LOT of failures. While this is great in business, I don't think we can gamble when it comes to people's retirement, health insurance, etc...
So I have to say no.
He is an opportunist and business man. I don't see him as a President and the quality of a President. A Government is not a business. It's not a property. It's not a casino. There are many people who depends on the Government. Not just a few hundred people on your personel roster.
While I agree with you, I am also going to ask/say - while the government SHOULD NOT BE property, a gamble, etc.. isn't it now a days?? Really? I don't think anyone has a damned clue what they are doing anymore.... just a bunch of self serving, fast dealing double talkers Even the ones who truly want to make a difference get no where because of the majority of schemers.
I think it's a fair statement.
But DT IS a gambler. Big one! And his track record is not in his favor.
While I think his gambles may have paid off in his business, I really cannot see an "opportunist" to go for President.
I think it's like his "next challenge" not necessarily for the good of the Country. KWIM?
Totally agree
Let us remember that some of his business success has come at other peoples expense in the form on bankruptcies. I don't want someone who wins like that leading our nation.
Yes, but he has either gone bankrupt or "restructured" 4 different times, and is still on top. While I am certainly not advocating for him, the man is NO fool, and IMO an interesting candidate.
Yes, it DOES make him an interesting candidate.
I feel he is going to turn into Ross Perot though

My dad wrote his autobiography, The Art of the Deal, so we know him pretty well, and it's not good stuff.
That is so cool! That is one of my brothers favorites lol
He can talk the talk but I highly doubt he could walk the walk.
SOmeone mentioned prefering Palin, I would MUCH prefer Trump to that hot mess

Re: Trump running for President
I would absolutely vote for him. It is about time we try something new, and having a business man in office would be a great thing. It would be nice to have a president with some balls. Our president is awful now, so I don't think it could get any worse.

I don't know if I would vote for him, but ITA our President now is the WORST...nothing in my mind could be worse than him other than Nancy Pelosi

Re: Trump running for President
Most likely no. He is just yelling and ******** and moaning right now. come out with a platform and an agenda.
Ronald Regan, Ross Perot and Jesse Ventura did it the right way. I almost feel like DT is just trying to get us to tune into Celebrity Apprentice.
Maybe I'll give him another look when he is official, but I doubt it. I'm not impressed by him.

I wouldn't say "never" until I knew more about him and his politics. Yes, I know who Donald Trump is, but I don't think I know enough about him to judge whether or not he would be a good president.
I'll most likely vote for Obama in the next election, so I don't think this will be an issue.

Ironically I agree with you also although I'm not 100% sure I would vote for him, I think we need a business man in office for a change not a politician.

I would really have to see who my other options are. If it came down to him or Obama I would definitely vote Trump. At this point I'd vote for my dog before re-electing this fool.

Re: Trump running for President
Seriously people, Donald Trump?
The man knows how to make money for himself. The man knows how to build real estate. The man knows all about publicity.
Tell me what he knows about running a country or a state or even a city. Tell me what he knows about foreign policy, besides the fact that he loves foreign women. Tell me what he knows about anything that doesn't involve Donald Trump.
I'm not saying the guy is an idiot, but a President he is NOT!

Re: Trump running for President
Trump has proven he IS the biggest idiot in the world. WORLD class D bag of the stupidest proportion.
Anyone proclaiming themselves to be a "birther" is dumber than dirt. This movement has nothing but stupid, stupid, stupid people in it who should hang thier heads in shame at the gross embarassement they have caused themselves by being "birthers".
So I have lost the little respect for him that I did I have,
But hey, it gets people tuning into his show....

I would vote for him. He's a successful businessman, and someone needs to get us out of this financial mess we're in. I'd even take bush back over this hot mess Obama!!!!

Re: Trump running for President
I thought at first him running was a publicity stunt and then realized he was for real. Then I heard him make a statement in a speech and it just had me enraged. He actually said if he was President, our country would be respected again. Um, right.

I think the novice we have in the White House has proven he knows nothing about what you list either.
Seems like Trump is the only 'candidate' with leadership qualities.
