I am sad also that there are so many of us on this thread but I am glad I have you guys to talk to. I got pg after ttc for ten months we were soooooo happy. I went for my first sono and there was a thickening lining but no baby. I had to have a D&c and a laproscopy bc my doctor thought it was ectopic thankfully it wasnt but my hsg level still was going up so I head to get a shot of mexotrexate which made me really sick We are now this month able to ttc again. I never got an answer to what happened. I pray everyday that I get pg soon and have a healthy baby. I dont know if I could go through that again. I am thinking of switching doctors too bc my gyno left the practice and I dont really know the other doctors. Any recommendations??? I also feel my gyno wasnt very concerned and that upset me Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Hi Jaclyn - I'm so sorry for your loss Chat Icon How are you holding up?

If you're still thinking about changing docs, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Peter Judge - he's at Southbay OB/GYN in West Islip. I, unfortunately, met him at the hospital for my D&C (he was on call there that night) and he handled everything so well & made such an impression with me (& my hubby!) that I've since switched over to him. He is the nicest, funniest, most compassionate doctor I've ever seen...he somehow managed to make me (& my dh) smile at my lowest point. At my followup he was so reassuring & came in, gave me a big hug & let me just cry it out. On top of being nice, he also VERY intelligent & he listens to all of my questions & directly answers them without hesitation. I'll be seeing him from now on. HTH!

im so glad there is this board.. I didnt exist last year...

Last January I got pregnant(on the second month of trying), naturally mc'ed in February. I remember going to dr hanauer's office and actually puking in the garbage bin in the waiting room I felt so sick( and still had to wait an hour with an empty waiting room).
I was so shocked because my sister & mom never had a mc so i thought i was safe.

April we decided to try again and i got pregnant on the first month. In may we went to the doctors for a sono. They showed the baby but said it was 2 weeks behind the date they had estimated. I couldnt really see how it would be that off since i knew my cycle. So i started to worry. Two weeks later we went back for the follow up appt and they showed us the heartbeat on the monitor. Somehow the baby did progress although only seemed another week along. I was so happy and it was a day before I was taking a family trip to Florida. I was worried thinking i was going to need an mc' before leaving for the trip. The Family was finding out b/c we were so happy at that point. Then went for the appt 2 weeks later, they couldnt see/hear the heartbeat and I was scheduled for an mc' the next morning. I was so freaked out going to winthrop after never having a surgery/operation before. I remember wondering if they would be able to get me out of the anestesia. To top things off I found out it was a girl, and that dr had no explanation for me but was concerned about having more tissue then usual, so i had to have blood drawn each 2 week until levels were 0.

Two weeks after winthrop I joined WW with my mom. This week has officially been a year and we have both lost over 50 lbs. I feel so much healthier. I had to make something good come out of all the bad. I couldnt understand dh and i go to church everyweek and this still had happened. I went to dr a couple of weeks ago, and will be going for HSG testing this wednesday. I am definately starting to get the itch again...yet on the other hand i have to remember to be calm and have faith that it will be healthy the next time

Hi Emily - I'm so sorry for your losses Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I feel the same way as you...my dh & I have been going to church together every week since the year before we got married & just as I was finally starting to think "HEY - maybe there's something to this & I should believe" I had my MC. I am now SO ANGRY at God...I feel like he let me down. I was always told I'd need help conceiving, but I got preg right away, so I kept calling my baby my "miracle baby" - and then god took him/her away after 7 1/2 weeks. I feel like I was messed with...why give me the gift & then take it away?! Chat Icon I know that this is one of the stages of grief, but right now I refuse to go back to church & I think that it bothers my dh a little bit. In his mind, we need to go now more than ever. We'll have to agree to disagree for now...Anyways...

Congrats on your weightloss!! I've been toying with going to WW & I like hearing success stories like yours. If you don't mind my asking, which plan were you following? There are 2 different ones right?

The two losses threw me off, but i think god had a purpose for it. I did lose weight at weight watchers, and my old job ended up laying off people after i left, so it could have happened while i was pregnant if i didnt change jobs....
If you take time off from church I still believe in prayer having just as much effect as showing up...

Im on the core plan at ww. so much easier to not count everything. and it balances what you eat so i feel alot healthier now too.

Thanks MetsGirl07 for bumping this!

I tearily read through this thread. Some of you went through such horrible times. Way worse than anything I have had to endure. I was so saddened by your experiences bc I could just imagine how you must have felt at the time. Especially those that were much further along. I just keep telling myself that God works in mysterious ways.

I have had 4 m/c. The first I was 16+w then two years later 9w. Two years later I m/c at 5w in March and then just now at 6w. I switched my Dr and am now seeing Dr. Dilena and Dr. Nadall. I should start testing soon.

Eveyone on here says go with your gut. I know I was good. I was so convinced this baby was sticking. I even had some ms. The turning point was monday night. Something happened monday night and I woke up spotting on Tuesday and that was it.

I go through the poor me cry and then i'm OK. Mostly bc I know it will be ok. Eventually. I'm just at the point now where I feel defeated. I don't even have a yearn for children anymore. I hope it passes but I have a feeling I probably won't get pg until next year.

This is a great thread and i'm sure i'll be on it again.

Hi Ladies, I'm just checking in again, I feel like I am doing alot better since the last time I posted in this thread. I am mentally and hopefully physically ready to give this TTC'ing another try.

I do have a question for you guys... I am waiting to get my first AF since my MC. I figured if she was on time, I would probably get her around the 10th of this month....anyway....

I have really really bad cramps, but no AF yet. For those who had a MC and D&C..was your first AF afterwards abnormally painful, I mean worse than it normally was? Just curious...cause I'm in pain...but I will be happy to see AF anyway Chat Icon

TIA Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I wanted to add....I'm very sorry for all the ladies who are just joining this thread. I didn't even wanna read or talk to anyone on here at first, when I had my MC.... but then a couple really nice ladies on here (Metsgirl07 & Jam11308) FM'd me, and it really helped me. glad to see you are doing a little bit better!!
the first AF after your MC could be really painful.. my first one was pretty normal, but this one (2nd) is VERY painful.. i think the MC just messes the cycles up. i am still waiting for the doctor to call me back about this... i will let you know what he says about all this! hope it will help!

This girl I used to work with has wanting to get pg for 7+ years. I think she finally did it. She tests tomorrow but I know she's pg. I think it's with twins too. I'm totally ecstatic for her but i'm sooo jealous at the same time. I know though that this is her time. But I def know what you mean about crying over it. Today I only cried for about an hour total. Not too bad. The other night I cried so much that I could barely open my eyes in the morning. But I start testing the end of this month which means by Aug I should have answers and I can start rockin' the house. So, I figure for the rest of the summer I will work out and hang out with some friends and have a few Coronas and by this time next year I should be a mommyChat Icon It's a good plan- I hope it's God's planChat Icon

I completely understand. I think that the wait seems worse now...the weeks feel longer...the time is going slower. I think that it's that we still feel like we should still be PG on some level...and it happened once already, so why can't it all just hurry up & happen again? And this feeling...it's just making the time stand still...I dunno...I'm rambling...too much wine...Does that even make sense? Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

ETA: I don't think that you should worry just yet. It took my friend a few cycles to get PG again after her MC. I think that it's frustrating, but unfortunately perfectly normal Chat Icon

Re: TTC after MC support thread

I don't normally post over here, I am usually on the infertility board. 2 and a half weeks ago I had my second D&C at 10 weeks. I am now going through a lot of testing to try to figure out what is going on with my body. I was going to an RE for male factor, maybe it is me, too, now. All the tests and procedures, monitoring, bloodwork and IUI's for nothing.

I can't say I am dealing well with any of this. It is a struggle each and every day. Just this morning I had to POAS to see if the pregnancy hormone is out of my body for some bloodwork I have to do. Well, 2 lines showed up and I was so sad. It is a nightmare to see that when you know it is no longer true.

Anyway, I know each day is a new one, so I try with a new attitude each time I wake up. I hope we can get some answers soon.

Sorry for the rant.

OMG! Please rant whenever you want! This is what we are hear for. I'm so sorry. Believe me when I say I know what you're going through. Especially the POAS part. It's horrible to have to do that right after a m/c. For me- that only reassures me that I (feel like) I am a failure. Like, how can I want something so badly but my body is saying no way!?

I'm sorry you are going through this. It's devestating. But please don't give up. You will have a baby once they find out what is wrong....and they will find out. I think, personally, once the hormones are out of my body I was able to cope with it better. So in time it will get a little easier. But come and talk and scream and shout whenever you want bc getting this off your chest is the best way to deal with all of the stress. Good luck with your testing and let us know how it goes!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Hello girls...I haven't been on in a while, I still haven't got my 2 AF after MC and it is killing me. My doctor had run blood work about 2 weeks ago and my progesterone levels were very low as well as I didn't ovulate. He highly believes that I am miscarrying due to my low level of progesterone and will have to be on supplements....I am happy they are finding answers, however, I am so sad that my cycle is so off. I am on CD36, I have never been so off, and I am definately not PG. I seriously still feel so down about all this, and I am so drained from all these blood tests......Sorry I just had to vent...Thanks for listeningChat Icon

He wants rto see what my cycle is like to determine if I need to be on clomid to bring on a stronger ovulation...The progesterone will help sustain a pregnancy.....

I got my first AF exactly 4 weeks after my D&C and my doctor ran tests after that. I still haven't gotten my second AF, I am all messed up with my cycles now. My progesterone level during pregnancy was a 6...very very low, so they are sttributing that as the cause most likely....When he did the test again after MC it was still very low...He wants to wait one more cycle to be sure, but it is taking forever to get AF this timeChat Icon

I'm just lurking, but i feel for all of you ladies. I'm not TTC now because my wedding is next year, but last year i suffered a m/c at 8w6d. I ended up having a d&c as well b/c my body was not miscarrying on its own. I can understand that worry that comes with trying again...it takes away from that excitement. I'm really pulling for all you ladies and hope you all have beautiful babies when your day comes.
