Umbrella Strollers - lets discuss...again.
I have a Chico travel system (see below). I love my stroller.
I know Maclaren is a popular umbrella brand, but I'm not sure why or maybe when I would use this if I'm so in love with my regular full size stroller. Please share with me the benefits of having/needing both before I invest.
TIA!

Re: Umbrella Strollers - lets discuss...again.
i'm with you in loving my full size stroller. I loved the travel system and got soo much use out of it with my DD. However, this time around i'm going with a lightweight stroller instead and we picked out the graco ipo( i think thats what it's called) it's similar to the maclearn but to me had more features that i wanted. The reason why most people chose the mclearn over the full size stroller is the size(it's easier to fit in and out of smaller spaces), the way it folds(it folds up much smaller and doesnt take up the whole trunk space). Personally if you love the full size stroller and have no problems i would stick with it. I used mine till my DD was 5 and it's still in good shape.

If you have no problems with your full size, you don't "need" a lightweight stroller. I just got tired of my big heavy stroller and wanted something smaller, more compact that I could easily get in and out, close and open, take Athan to the park or for a quick stroll. I have the MacLaren Triumph and I just love it. It's small, perfect for the mall, stuff like that. But you don't NEED a lightweight stroller. I just like the convenience of having it and at 1 year old, we hardly ever use the full sized Peg that I have.

I have the same travel system and love it. I still use the big stroller, but only when I'm going on long walks from the house and think he might fall asleep. I got sick of lugging the big thing around and it was a pain to use in a lot of stores. So I got the Chicco umbrella when he was about 1 year old. I love that one too. He seems really comfortabel in it and will sleep int hat one too. Plus, I can fold it up and it has a carrying strap and I can sling it over my shoulder and carry it around and it's not heavy. Plus, I now have waaayyyy more room in my trunk--I keep the stroller in there and had trouble getting all the groceries in when I had my big stroller.

My travel system stroller takes up my entire cargo space in my Jeep and it's pretty big if I want to drive it around stores. It will definately come in handy for certain occassions, but the umbrella is MUCH more practical for running errands and going shopping. I just bought the Maclaren Techno.
