I just had the same thing happen. We never found a sack but dr b said no way it was viable and dr p wanted to wait a few days and be sure there was no way anything would be viable since we did ivf and put in 3 embryos. He said it wasn't a good chance that we miscarried one and had another late implanter but he said he has seen crazy things happen and he wasn't in the business of terminations and waiting a few days to see what the beta did and if we found evidence of an intrauterine pg was a good option for us. For me it gave me piece of mind that going ahead with the d&c was the right thng to do. Even though my beta started doubling while in hospital we got to a high enough number that we should have seen a sack, we didn't and dr p went ahead with the procedure. I am here if you have any questions, having just gone through this I know how you feel! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that maybe you have a miracle coming!

Ps- once dr p decided that it wasn't viable I asked why the beta was doubling if he found no evidence of ectopic when he went in and he said sometimes part of the pg tissue in the uterus can hold onto a blood supply causing the rising beta even though I miscarried but didn't pass the tissue.

is it at all possible that the 63 number was somehow a mistake?? or the first number was a mistake??

did you go to the same lab? going to any quest, I found out from DR B office wouldn't make a difference because they all use the same processing lab... but diff labs all together could yield diff results.

Also, could there just be a general mistake??? IDK.

But strange things seem to happen with pregnancies, and it seems almost anything is possible.

I'd, personally have a definite problem with a DNC if my numbers were doubling, the sac was in the uterus and can be seen and I wasn't bleeding.

I don't want to give you false hope... but I'd hold off on it too, wait and see...

im one of the biggest dr. B fans around, but i would DEF get a second and third opinion if i were you. i would not feel comfortable with a d&c with a visible sac and a doubling beta either. did you ask if vanishing twin could've been the reason for the weird betas??

To answer some questions:

I am not bleeding, no cramps, no pregnancy symptoms either.

He said he THINKS he sees a sac but cant be sure...it could be a blood clot or a cyst and it STILL could be ectopic.

So im sitting here WAITING to be in pain any second. The #s indicate an ectopic OR a viable pregnancy OR a blighted ovum. It is just TOO early for anything to be sure.

Beta 1 and 2 were at AFS and beta 3 was at quest. So maybe it could be a mistake? Going from 80 to 84 in 2 days is NOT good.

I asked about vanishing twin, Dr. B says NEGATIVE.

I dont think Dr. B would say 0% if there was any hope to be had

the waiting is the worst.

I really just want this over. the highs and lows are just NUTS.

Java- thanks for posting your betas, mine are similiar.

I am REALLY worried about my job. I told them this morning im going in for surgery, now tomorrow i will be showing up....crazyyyyyyyyyy!!!

I had my transfer on 10/12, it was a 6day embryo. i THINK im 5 weeks and either 3 or 4 days?

lmp was 9/23
