Great update! I'm halfway into my 3rd month of PT...DS is going to be 3 real soon and still hasn't mastered #2 but has made improvement with trying to go on his own. I would say it's 50/50 now with going on his own or letting me know he has to do #2. That's better than always having an accident.

Honestly, just give it time...its a phase in PT. After a while though I would get upset with DS and talk to him in a stern voice that he can not go in the pull up anymore...that his poopies are just too big. I never yelled but he saw my frustration and listened to me. Also, at the beginning, he would hold the poopies in school the entire day and I would come in to get him and the minute he walked out of there he would dump in his pants...I wanted to tear the hair out of my head! BUT, the phase passed very quickly and after that it just clicked KWIM? He is VERY well adjusted and goes pee and poo on his potty, in the toilet, in school and in public toilets.

My advice to all my friends that are beginning to PT is don't wait too long. IMO PT takes good 6 months. It is never too early to just let them run around the house with no diaper and no undies and start practicing sitting on a potty.

ETA: DS just turned 3 in September and we started when he was 2.5. I also wanted to add that at the beginning, pull-ups can be very confusing so using undies is a great idea bc thats how they start to realize that they HAVE to go on the potty or else its going to be a big ordeal (changing, etc.) if they don't. Now that DS is fully PT we occassionally use pull-ups when going out in public but he tells us when he has to go and we drop everything and run to find a bathroom so that he doesn't go in his pull-up.

Its a long process IMO so dont get discouraged!
