So then I went to Z and i asked him what my options were and he told me basically i have no options.
They wont fire me because if they do they will have to pay unemployement. What I think they will do is they are setting me up to resign. And if I dont take the other position they will treat this as a resignation. They offered me another position and I refused.
I would call unemployment and explain your situation. Your terms of hire have changed and you "may" be able to claim unemplyment.
When I was at my old job at a newspaper and the switched my hours from 10am-6pm to 4:30pm-12:30am. I threw a fit and went to HR. The lady was so mean and basically told me my options were to either accept the new hours or quit. She told me in no uncertaun terms that if I quit I would NOT be elligible for unemployment. After working the new hours for a short time, and attempting to get another day time position with the company, I quit. I applied for unemployment and was nothing but honest, because I didn't want it to come back and bite me. NYS found that I was indeed elligible for benefits. My old job even tried to fight and it gave me days to show up for little "trials" after they didn't show for the 2nd time, the whole thing was dismissed and I collected for 9 months.
thanks for the tip. I am in FL and their labor laws are a bit different. darn right to work state.
but I definately will give their unemployement a call and see if I may be eligable.

Thanks Deb and Holly. I really appreciate it.
Going back to the old company isnt an option. I asked. Z is actually going back to the old company (he was moved from there to here and now they are moving him back) and we discussed it maybe having him take me over there and unfortunately he cant. A major hiring freeze and they are not in a position financially to bring on anyone.
I am nervous and scared. I've freshened the resume and have started to send some out.
What a bunch of spineless crappy people I work for 
I guess this just means that their is something out there for me and this place wasnt it 
Beleive me, I know how hard it is to switch jobs, but you deserve better! There are some awesome companies out there that value their employees like no end in sight! You deserve that! GO out there--Kick Azz! ARe you wanting to stay in your field or just start over in a totally different profession?

I want as far away from customer service, call centers and accounting as possible.
I think I may go back to admin assistant and I've also sent my resume to a few travel places since I have some background in travel.
I even dropped a call to someone I know who is a corporate PI and has his own company to see if he needed anyone in the office. Filing, faxing, schedule appointments, anything even if part time. I know I dont have the qualifications to be a PI but it's a field that is interesting and you never know 
I am keeping my options open and trying to get my little ducks in a row

Maybe check out a placement company! I am not sure if they have Careers Unlimited, but its worth a shot--they will help you find the perfect job & its not a temp agency, so you are an employee from day 1!
