VENT: So far, Ailimentum is the worst of all the formulas we tried.....
I know we have to give it more time. He has been on it for 4 days. His symptoms are so much worse, though. We spoke to his GI doctor yesterday and we are going to keep him on it to see if he adjusts. Is there really a chance that if he got worse for the first few days, this formula can work out for him? I am not asking which formula to try next. I just want to know if there is a chance this will work.

Kevin was like that with the Enfamil formulas. We finally settled on Soy formula for him. (Turned out he has a milk allergy) but when we were switching back and forth between formulas it did take a few days to see how he was going to react to the new formula.

Aww I'm sorry. DD has been on Alimentum since Saturday afternoon and last night we started seeing a difference. Have you tried the Isomil...the Alimentum is milk based maybe your baby has a milk allergy. Or I read that some babies respond better to Nutramigen than Alimentum and vice versa. Either way I hope you find a solution fast

The cans say you should see a difference within 48 hours. We saw a difference right away, but sometimes it can take a couple of weeks - Especially if you've been switching formula.
If you feel like the Alimentum isn't working I would ask the GI doc for Neocate or Elecare.

Alimentum worked quickly for us too then DD refused to drink due to taste-try a few more days and if not speak to your dr. If Alimentum didnt work the next step was the GI doctor.

Alimentum (sed with my older DS) worked instantly for my son's constipation/gas issues. The reflux did get worse. I would say it took about 7 days before the reflux/spitting lessened. It never went away (reflux and colic) - that just got better with age.
