What age...
What age do you think is a good age to have your first baby.... Just taking a poll... I think its around 26.

I think it totally depends on the individual. I know a lot of 30 year olds who are so not emotionally ready for a baby, but then I know people who were 22 and had a baby and were so ready. I can't really put an age on that type of thing because it is such a huge decision. I am 26 and I don't think Dh and I are ready for a baby for another 2-3 years.

There are people out there who make great parents at 21... 24... 28...30....35... 42... you get the idea 
I don't think age has much to do with it.

I don't think there's really one specific "good age" for that sort of thing.... it totally varies based on a person's maturity, life experiences, etc.
I know people in their early 20's with kids & are excellent parents.... and others in their late 30's who aren't ready for parenthood.
For me personally, 30+ .... I don't think I'll feel ready before then.

I think it varies from person to person. There are still a few more things my husband and I would like to do before we have children (travel to Thailand), however, if it happened sooner we wouldn't complain!

I don't think age has much to do with it.
ITA. I know plenty of people that are in their thirties and aren't ready, but I have a friend that had a baby at eighteen and is an incredible mom.

For me personally, at this point, I'm leaning more towards 28-30... but it varies from one person to another... Ill be 27 in a few months and really have alot of other things I want to do/accomplish before bringing a child into the world... I cant imagine having a child right now at 26, financially we would be struggling.. For others who have settled careers and savings and didnt just buy a house, maybe they are ready at 26

for me, maybe 28-29? (i'm 25 now) i've been with my DH for 7+ years, married 1.5, but just finished law school and have only been at my job 4 months, plus we have a 1br apt in the city. we also want to do a lot more traveling and other things before we start thinking about kids.
however, if i started working right after college and we lived somewhere else, owned a house, etc who knows - maybe I would have said earlier? Or, if I didn't meet my DH until my mid/late 20s I'd also have a very different answer.

I agree that it totally depends. I'm 26 right now, be 27 in May (DH is also 26) and I think we are just enjoying being selfish right now. Not ready to give up going where we want and doing what we want. Maybe 29 will be a good time for me...we shall see!

If I had to pick an age I think 30 is good, but we'll start TTC when I'm 28 & DH is 30... Maybe (current plan).
I had previously had baby fever but since getting a puppy I am back to reality.
We are both going for our masters, buying our North Shore 5 bedroom dream home & traveling the world first. I'm not ready to risk some screaming infant destroying my bikini body and perky breasts just yet.
I also have worked at my career so hard & I'm not ready to put it aside.
We are going to try when I'm 28 & DH is 30. I'm 24 now. 28 still sounds really young to me but maybe i'll be ready then.

I think it depends on the people.
I'm 29. I really wanted it to happen before 30... and it sooo almost did! but then we lost it and now get to start all over again. so my goal time frame is currently being readjusted.
i do think it's different for everyone. I'm older than a lot of the LIW brides so I can totally understand the ones who want to wait a year or two or three even. For us... we are ready now.

I agree with the other posters in that it really depends on the person. There is no "right" age for getting pregnant. It should happen when your ready! I'm 28 but I'm not exactly ready yet!!!

I'm 30 and expecting our first in April. I just got married LAST April (Happy 1st Anniversary to me!), got well established in my career, and bought our own place all in the same year and I needed all of those things to be in place before we actively started trying so it wasn't an age thing so much as a preparation thing.
I think everyone has their own ideas on what they need to accomplish before having children - whether it be education, financial goals, traveling, buying a house, etc. - since there's not really any time or money for those things for at least a little while after the baby is born.

it all depends on the person. I got pregnant at 23 and had my dd at 24. We were ready. of course now i wish i would have done a few more couple things before my dd but i wouldnt give this up for the world so i guess it all works out in the long run and just because you have a baby doesnt mean you have to put your dreams and goals int he garbage maybe it will just take a little longer but its still possible!

I had DD at 32 and I'm really glad I waited. I was able to do everything I wanted in my 20s. Travel, party...etc. Now I'm a SAHM and I don't feel like I missed out!

I agree with the above posters that there really is no specific age. One may be ready at 20 and another at 40. I always imagined for myself my first child at age 27. We'll see....

I wanted to have one when I was in my 20's...that didnt happen since I just got married and im 31 so now of course I want one even more since ill be 32 soon but DH isnt ready, I dont know if he'll ever be but he does want them. Ive been ready for a long time so he better get moving cause ive been controlling my Baby Fever but if he makes me wait to long it will get ugly!!

I think it's a personal choice for everyone, me personally I'd like to at 26-27. I'm 24 right now and part of me wants to now but I want to be married a little more first.
