There are people out there who make great parents at 21... 24... 28...30....35... 42... you get the idea 
I don't think age has much to do with it.
ITA. I know plenty of people that are in their thirties and aren't ready, but I have a friend that had a baby at eighteen and is an incredible mom.

I'll be 27 this year and DH will be 30. Although he's itching I still don't feel exactly ready yet. There are some things personally I want to do as well as building up a nest egg / emergency fund since day care and increased rent will make it more difficult to save $

it really depends on the person and their situation. i'm 27 and we are living in my paren'ts apartment. i really don't want to have a baby under my parent's roof. plus money is a little tight right now. maybe in a couple of years, we'll be in the better situation.
