What are you buying your 1 year old for the holidays?

I've got his birthday 11/20 and then Christmas and I'm at a loss.
The only thing I have so far is the FP Little People Garage Ramp.

Re: What are you buying your 1 year old for the holidays?

Im buying her whatever I happen to see in the store if I am at a store between Black Friday and Xmas, which she'll get to play with before xmas anyway.

I don't think of buying her stuff for her bday or xmas (she got nothing for her bday) She's too young to get it. I guess it is a ton of fun to watch her tear into paper, I know we had fun with the photos last year for xmas but its not really 'necessary' KWIM?

But if money was no issue and I had patience to actually put ASIDE her gifts??

Laugh & learn Home
Laugh & learn stackables
Any toy at all she can press big buttons that light up and has music (she loves that right now)
Maybe a lil car driver type wheel for her to turn and has a key to turn type toy
Book maybe?

Reality: what I'd like for her
Photo session
Shoes
Gfit Cards to shops for clothes

What will most likely happen:
We'll buy her nothing that she can unwrap cause we have no patience.
Aunt will buy her clothes she can unwrap
We'll call it a day once we get photos of her opening presents in her pretty dress.

Re: What are you buying your 1 year old for the holidays?

great thread! My DD will be 1 12/1, and then the holidays, so I have the same question. I googled toys for 1 year old and found some good suggestions. Here is what I have/am planning to get so far:

Baby doll (in part because come Jan, she will have a baby sister)

puzzle (melissa and doug jumbo knob puzzle)

magnets (alphabet and farm magnets from one step ahead)

corn popper, and maybe a few other push/walk toys

some ball that rolls and plays music (FH picked this out for her)

touch and feel books

mickey mouse hot dog dancer (she loves the hot dog dance song)

my dad is planning on getting her a giant stuffed walrus. He got her a mini walrus when he took her to the NY aquarium and she loves it. I have a giant teddy for her that she loves. She jumps on it, hugs it, relaxes on it when she has her bottle. so he thought she would like the giant walrus and my parents house)

Like yours, DS is my 2nd child so I feel like I have so much of what is out already (so, I have the Learning Home, do I really need the Learning Farm too? Chat Icon ). I have picked some "different" things for DS:
Fisher Price Jammin Band (for both kids)

I just bought Brody the same Little People Garage and the Farm.

I have no idea what else to get him. He doesn't need ANYTHING!

Re: What are you buying your 1 year old for the holidays?

Jack got most of this stuff for his birthday :( So far on my list is (we celebrate hanukah and christmas)
1. a pair of boots
2. a magnadoodle
3. the hanukah little people stuff
4. possibly a slide/climber thing
5. clothes

My father bought him a radioflyer rocking horse and my sister bought him a my first trampoline. Obviously they had a little fun with the big book advertisement this week. These are just the things I know about so far. My mom said "there is more . . . much more" Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: What are you buying your 1 year old for the holidays?

Do you have the Busy Ball Popper? My kids are obsessed with it. Tho I wish it had a heavier base because they stry to stand on it and it is very light. This is a list I just sent to MIL

This is all One Step Ahead

From this link I think they'd like the TV remote, the silly sounds hammer, page 2-the play cubes, Page 3 The leap Frog Learn and Groove Alphabet drum.

Also the vTech Sort and Spin Blender and a doll that you can button, zipper, snap etc. They have a boy!

The FP Laugh and Learning Home. Mrs Flatbread posted this the other day so there is some stuff there

We do have the busy ball popper. He loves it. It was a favorite of Miranda's too.
