We got married debt free so every penny went into a savings account that we contribute to monthly and will eventually be our down payment for a house!
If we lived in a normal freaken neighborhood it would have been a perfect down payment but for where we are looking it was probably about half of what we need!

We used part of it as a down payment for a new car for DH. The rest is still sitting in savings.

We put it in savings to use for furniture when we bought our house.
We were very lucky, my dad paid for the bulk of our wedding, then what my mom & ILs gave us paid for the rest. We paid for the honeymoon ourselves with money we'd saved before the wedding.

Put half in a CD the other half in savings
