What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
Just curious
For us:
Ronan can match pitch. I'll say-lets sing and sing a note and he'll try to match my pitch. If I sing high he does, if I sing low he lowers his pitch. He also likes to look at the back of everything and "figure it out." So for him I would say singing and mechanical pursuits
Declan is a crazy daredevil and athlete. He taught himself how to pull up on the couch around 13 months. I used to have the diaper station next to the couch but blocked off(kinda rigged with a chair annd his bouncy seat) He would straddle the arm of the couch and lower himself into the diaper area by holding on to the back couch cushions so he could get into the diapers. the first time I saw it I was like he is now pretty much running instead of walking.

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
For Gracelyn: she too always turns toys over to see where the batteries go & to "figure it out." She loves when DH gets his tools out--she's right there w/ him & knows how to use a screwdriver & he's let her use a hammer (w/ his help) & the wrench.
She also is awesome at doing puzzles...she'll sit there for 20 minutes figuring out pieces & such.
She also may be musically inclined...she loves the piano. She is so dainty w/ it.
Jack...well he's 9 months, but all ready tries to pull up & if I pick him up & put him by the couch, he'll scoot himself along the couch.
He's also ALWAYS smiling & laughing

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
Chels is obsessed with books, seriously this child has cannot sit still for a second, but you put a book in front of her and she's literally sitting there forever "reading" it. I'm a huge reader..she also has the gift of gab like myself she has many many words at 14 mos and many ppl can't believe she's actually only 14 mos, she's extremely social and will literally talk to anyone...which is like me too, sometimes too much She also is a very very quick learner, we have to show her something once and she's got it down.
She's very much a perfectionist and has to get evertything down perfectly before moving to the next step which is just like my DH

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
Sarah is very analytical. She likes to do puzzles, writing, drawing, reading, math. She's a nerd like DH and I are. But she also enjoys pretend play with her Barbies or dressing up in costumes.
Andy is more physical. He likes to be moving all the time, even when I'm reading a book to them he's on the floor hopping on one foot or something. He has a really strong arm, DH thinks he's going to be a great baseball player.

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
Miranda- art. Anything with coloring, painting, drawing. Some of the things she makes are amazing (and she has a sense of humor with it too)
Melanie-Puzzles. She can do any puzzle you give her. It amazes me because she doesn't look at the picture on the box, and she does the middle first, then gets to the edges at the end.
Jawad- Daredevil. He can find a way to make anything a toy. He's always the jokester. He'll do anything for a laugh.
Ryan-He love to dance. Any time music comes on he does the cutest little booty dance.
amelia- To be determined

Lily is a pretty talented artist already. She draws and paints constantly, and teaches herself how to do things. I watch other kids her age draw, and it's mostly up and down, but she automatically makes circles and faces, and is now starting to draw the bodies as well. My husband is an artist, and his entire family can draw/paint/you name it....so I'm guessing she picked it up from them!

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
My DD is visually sharp as a whip and extremely observant.
Since we can remember, even very young at 2 mths, she had amazing tracking skills with her eyes (eye dr at 2 mths said this). Even now, everyone comments how my DD at 15 mths stares them down, follows them with her eyes. She can notice the littest things, such as when the kitchen light is out, since she could sort of communicate, she would point up, look around, make noises noticing the lights were out. She is very very observant of her surroundings and details. She can spot things that I never would imagine she is even looking for (such as a card on my shelf) or a toy hidden somewhere, still in a box, etc.
We too try to figure out what she might be good at with those sharp skills of observing things.

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
DS: He is my thinker. He always has been and is great at trying to figure things out like puzzles. He can look at a puzzle picture and within minutes be down with it, including new ones that he has never done before. He also loves making new tracks for his trains. I am thinking he will doing something with either architecture or engineering.
DD: She is quiet and is always observing her surroundings first. She isn't as social as DS in new settings. She is so motherly and is great at taking care of her babies. I am thinking for her something in the health care field only because she takes such care of them .

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
Katherine is easy...she definitely has an aptitude for learning--school-like learning, that is. If that makes any sense. She looooves to learn things. She is (well, we think ) super-smart. As an example...the kid (at not even 4.5) knows the names, nicknames, and capitals of 25 states already. Her goal is to get all 50 before Easter! I kid you not, she'll point to Idaho on the map and say, "Idaho. The Gem State. State capital: Boise." I don't even know where freakin' Idaho is. ETA: She's also really verbal and has an amazing vocabulary. People always laugh at how precocious she sounds.
She also really enjoys arts and crafts and loves dancing (and has taken tap lessons for two years), but I wouldn't say say she's especially talented in either right now necessarily.
Abby...hmmmm...what can you say about Abby? I think she's very talented at driving us all to drink. She's 2.75 and I don't know, but I think she has a pretty developed sense of humor already. Very expressive facially. She's also does very funny voices.

Emma loves to color and paint. She seems to know instinctively how to mix colors and they always look great. She also stays in the lines really well- that was something I didn't think she'd be able to do for a while.

Music. Dance. Something sports related, possibly gymnastics. She has always amazed me in this aspect, her balance, her coordination (even her teachers were impressed with her ability when she took gymnastics when she was younger).
She is very athletic. And boy can the girl run!!!

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
Robbie is analytical and can remove emotion from a situation in order to solve a problem. It's something that *I* can't do. He's very driven and focused and utilizes logic to overcome challenges. And he is EXTREMELY intelligent. He picks up concepts easily and also has a tendency to LOOK for other ways to solve things or concepts that might also fit the situation. He'd be a great scientist. Robbie is also really good at endurance sports. He can run FOREVER. We go on bike rides and he's like the energizer bunny - he and Rob keep going and Noah and I poop out. He's a good swimmer too. I see him doing a triathalon one day if he wants!
Noah has charisma. People just are drawn to him without any effort on his part. He can fart and people go "OMG! He is sooo adorable!" Because of this he has an easy time manipulating people and situations. And he's great at making up songs and poems and stories. He wants to be a singer and guitarist with a band "So I can get a lot of hot girls to like me." - I somehow think he might actually achieve that goal. He's also a good artist.. great handwriting, wonderful drawings/paintings. He's also - surprisingly - really good at strength sports. He loves lacrosse and wrestling and working out (sit ups, pull ups, etc..).

DS is the same way. He's very observant. I think he may also be musically inclined though he's still so young. He loves anything that makes music. When he was a newborn, one of the only ways DH could calm him down during his long witching hour was to play the keyboard. He loves when DH plays the keyboard or guitar.

DD is very social, loves playing with other kids. took to school right away, never had a problem dropping her off.
I also think she is very smart for her age, but I think most moms feel hat way.

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
I think she's going to be an actress. She loves to perform for others, family and complete strangers. She loves to act out scenes from movies with us too.
She has rhythm when she dances to music and keeps beats on drums. She plays "jingle bells" with spoons and it actually sounds like the song!
She loves swimming and running. I think she'll be great in endurance sports. We haven't tried team sports yet.
She is not an artist by any means. She enjoys arts & crafts but has no aptitude for it.
