Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
Music - rhythm and tone.
After one Music Together class last summer, she just got it. Since then, she sings and dances like crazy. She can keep a beat like I have never seen a toddler keep a beat.

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
my DS is def muscially inclined...I am a singer and DH played the violin so no big surprise there. Both my SIL's think he will also be a sports kid too as he's a real outdoors, rough and tumble kind of boy. I think so too as DH is a BIG sports fan also.
It's funny b/c my BIL and SIL are artists and totally not athletic and both their kids are so artistic and they are only 5 and 6. I really think genetics plays a role in these things. Their kids are not athletic at all...my SIL always says they totally got that from the two of them

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
I can't wait til it's really obvious what her tendencies are...though I think right now she really looooves to make noise. She loves to bang things and shake things...so she'll probably be musical like her mommy. From what I can tell she already keeps a good beat! I can see her being a people person too...she just loves people.
Hopefully she'll get some mathematical smarts from Daddy and not be clueless like me!

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
She has an innate musical ability, but is also just incredibly intelligent and can understand concepts far beyond what a child her age should be able to understand. While it might be a blessing in some ways, it's rough in other ways because she's only three, but you would think she was like 10. I just want her to be little and not bust out with half the things she says

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
Cailen is definitely athletic - how he moves and what he can do is unbelievable.
He also can negotiate like crazy - so I'm thinking lawyer, or a professional athlete who will negotiate a really good deal
ETA - forgot to add... His sense of humor is insane - he is naturally funny - not just the things he says - but his timing, his facial expressions, things like that. He is a natural comedian!!! He is also charismatic - from day 1 people gravitated to him. He can manipulate that well....

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
Growing hair-she has the most hair of any 2.5 year old I have ever met. I think she could be in the guinness book of world records with a really creepy picture of hair that hasn't been cut since she was 14 months.
Also, fashion. She knows what she wants to wear and how to accessorize it just so (glasses, purse, my necklaces, shoes, etc etc etc)
As for stuff that might actually be useful: She is super flexible too-so dance or gymnastics (we start in both in the summer, so we will find out).

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
DS: DH and I believe he is definately going to be either a vet or do something in the sceince field. He loves animals, knows facts about them that you have never heard before. He loves dinosaurs, science experiements, his microscope and his telescope. He loves to read.
DD: is going to be a major headache and is definatley going the actress route. She throws the best tantrums I have seen, throws herself on the floor, screams cries yells is defiant.....she is tough, climbs up my stools to stand on top of the island, gets into anything and everything there is. she is a handful, but she is so cute and adorable!
They also both love music and dancing.

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
definite problem solver. During his EI evaluation, that's all they kept saying. And problem solving not in a typical way either... he was my 12 month old escape artist...
very athletic. we spend a ton of time at parks, people are always shocked how little and agile he is. dh is the same way.

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
Athletic, but somehow I don't think he's going to be big on team sports. I can see him running though, or cycling. And I think he'd love something like skiing. We also joke that he could probably do tap dance! He does this footwork and slight arm swinging that reminds me of the way tap dancers move.
He is great at puzzles and loves to study things, see how they work. I could see him developing an analytical side when he's older, though where it will go, who knows?
He LOVES his books--he can entertain himself for a good chunk of time with a basket of books. He looks at them himself, and loves us to read to him.

For Gracelyn: she too always turns toys over to see where the batteries go & to "figure it out." She loves when DH gets his tools out--she's right there w/ him & knows how to use a screwdriver & he's let her use a hammer (w/ his help) & the wrench.
She also is awesome at doing puzzles...she'll sit there for 20 minutes figuring out pieces & such.
This is DS, he is very mechanical. He grabs the screwdriver if he thinks something is broken to try to fix it. He knews where the on/off switch is for all his toys, all our appliances etc. He is also a computer freak. Since he was born he just loves any and all computers. Fake, real he just loves them!
DH, FIL, both BILs are all engineers (different disciplines) and I see that same mentality in DS

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
I'd love to say something impressive but I can not.
DD is all over the place, the one thing she is consistent with is "drama" if the girl doesn't win an emmy for best actress I'll be shocked
DS - food fighting. He loves to throw food! He's good at getting it right between my eyes or in my hair!

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
i am musical, but DS defnitely did NOT inherit it... he can't match pitch to save his life!
he is very good at math, which he gets from his dad. by age 2 he understood 1:1 object correspondence and could count objects up to about 15.
he also has really good fine motor skills and draws really well - e.g. at 28 months he can draw many shapes.
DD is only 7 months, so we'll see how she turns out!

Re: What do you think your child(ren) have a natural aptitude for?
both my kids have the aptitude to drive me to drink and eventually give me a stroke or heart attack.
They want to run fast, jump, dive, crash, contort, flip, spin, collide, fall, tumble...did i mention crash?
