What does this mean? Thyroid issues and pregnancy
I had a preconception physical with blood work a few weeks ago. Today, my doctor calls and says that my thyroid is sluggish, which can make it difficult for me to get preggo and she asked me to come in for more blood tests. Has this happened to anyone? What is the treatment? I am confused and a little scared.
TIA!

I have an underactive thyroid and I am on Synthroid. It CAN make pregnancy difficult but the Dr said once it is monitored & the meds start to work, conceiving will happen assuming there are no other issues.

Re: What does this mean? Thyroid issues and pregnancy
this is me
i have always been borderline thyroid but never treated.
i also have a history of spotting days before my period for unexplained reasons.
after going through a slate of fertility testing and procedures the only official thing they found was that my thyroid was slightly off..
so they put me on synthroid last month.
after 3 weeks the spotting disappeared and my luteal phase went from 10 days to 14!! it HAD to be the synthroid.
good luck!
