Wood...no area rugs. We both have allergies and the wood works best.

We have wall to wall carpet in the bedrooms, but there's hardwood floors underneath. I like the carpet for the kids' rooms, but I've thought about ripping up the carpet in our master and either having just hardwood or harwood with an area rug. My DH likes the carpet though so it will stay for now.

We have hardwoods in all the bedrooms. DH & I want to get an area rug for under our bed this winter...I feel the floor is too cold when I get out of bed...

So do I but we have wood floors and no area rugs. Yet.
I slide my feet right into my ultra comfy slippers instead. I never take them off in the house.

We have hard wood floors in all of the bedrooms. In the MBR, I have a small accent rug on either side of the bed so our feet don't hit the cold floor when we get up in the morning.

carpet. I'm not a fan of wood or tile in bedrooms. Although it looks pretty and is easier to keep clean.

MBR and younger son's BR are hard wood floors with area rugs.
Older son has carpet that I am dying to rip out. I hate carpet with a passion. His room is the ONLY room in the house with carpet. We installed it when I was pregnant with him and I still regret it.

all refinished hardwood. the 4th bedroom is on a different level of the house (hi-ranch) and that will have laminate once we finish remodeling.
