What plants/flowers would be good to plant at a cemetery?

I know, kinda morbid, but I wanted to plant some stuff at my Dad's grave once they engrave the stone and I know nothing about gardening/plants. It gets full sun. I know I don't want a shrub, but are there any annuals or perennials that would do ok?

TIA

I would maybe too a knock out rose bush. They are smaller roses. If you do perennials they tend to spread and after a while there might be too many.

I would call the cemetery as they may have certain restrictions. You can also get "perpetual care" where they will take care of the flowers or the shrubs.

I think day lilies in Stella d'oro would do good there. It doesn't spread and just gets fuller each year.

We plant mums in the fall and usually geraniums in the summer. The cemetary where my family members are buried does not allow annuals or bushes of any type to be planted.

Definitely call and check. I used to work at a cemetery and it was policy to remove those things. Chat Icon Stupid, I know, but I hated seeing families spend their money on stuff only to have it tossed.
