What woul you do if someone put a note on your car?
So I park my at daily on side streets by my house. Today I go out to my car and someone put a note on my car "keep it up"...
It looks like they wrote my license plate # as well.
I don't think I parked too close to someone's driveway or the car in front of me...
What would you do?

Keep it, if anything happens to your car you have proof that someone on that block is "threatening" you..

Wow, that's not cool at all! I would be almost positive that it's from whoever's house you're parking in front of. Sounds like they are an A-hole and basically threatening you. As much as it sucks, I would be afraid to park there for fear of them being psycho (as the note implys) and them doing something to my car. I'd pick a different house to park in front of. I know some people do get pissed if people park in front of their house, especially on a regular basis.

For real. I'd be tempted to leave a note back on a tree or something. I'd also have probably taken a photo of your car with the note on it, just as proof that you weren't parking illegally or blocking someone's driveway.
It does sound like maybe you're parking in someone's "usual" spot and they are getting annoyed, but they have no right. It's not theirs, it's on the street. It doesn't have their name on it. Weird though.

I completely agree with this. It would rile me up, that's for sure, and I would take a pic to prove that I wasn't in the wrong.

I park in front of someone's house on everyday near the RR. I often wonder if I'm annoying them, but so far no one's said anything.
I'd be too scared to act on anything, but maybe park on the other side of the street for a while if possible.

When I was still living with my mom I had this happen to me, I parked in front of her neighbor's house and the guy put a note on my car that said 'Park in front of your own house.' I was pissed!!!! My step-father went over and said something to the guy and we never had any problems after that.
It's not illegal to park in front of someone's house, they have no right to put notes on your car.

As someone who often has their spot taken by people going to the train station or other places, it's really annoying. I've been tempted to leave notes before, especially because there's a park across the street where they wouldn't be taking anyone's spot. I have a kid and a lot to carry in and out, so to have to find parking elsewhere because of it is annoying. I'd find another spot to park.

Someone on the subway once told me that my perfume was bothering them (and I don't think I wear a lot or anything abnormal). I responded to her that being smushed in with crowds is a part of pubic transport, and if she couldn't handle it she should consider another way to get around.
I would tell you that you should consider housing that includes a driveway or garage. You have no right to a street parking spot!

I'd be super tempted to leave my own snarky note on my car the next day, but I'm confrontational. DH would never let me.
My sister goes to law school and drives and had a note on her car one day telling her "I just wanted to let you know I see you driving and I think you're so beautiful." My dad made her go to campus police IMMEDIATELY even though she and I both didn't think it was a big deal. And my dad is the least protective, least reactive father in existence. So maybe notes on cars are a bigger deal than I think they are?

so I think its creepy like many of you have said...I told DH and he asked if anyone said anything to me and my answer is was no. He absolutley said under no circumstance does he want me trying to find out who wrote it... he said he will deal with it and if anything as several of you said - we will hold onto the note and see if it happens again
Let me put in context where I park - I am not close to rhe train or anything. I live in a gated coop neighborhood. we have 1 to many cars for a parking permit as do many of my neighbors so we park across the street on the side streets in the neighborhood. Almost all the houses have garages and driveways... I try to park on the main road - its metered but by the time i get home and leave in the morning I dont have to worry bout the meters. However I dont work Thursdays and Fridays at the moment so I park on the side streets so I dont have to come down with DS and move the car.

I dunno... I think Im just not gonna park over there if I can avoid it. Even If I have to walk further. I just wish the person wouldnt have been so cryptic with the message... I have no problem in moving or whatever If I was in the way. I get it - its annoying when you cant get out... I just didnt think I was parked bad.

If that's not your house, I'd say it was definitely from that house. In one picture (it could be the angle) it seems like it would be difficult for them to get out of their driveway.
