Around 2 weeks to grandma's house and after her first shpts for more public places.

we went for walks in the park at 6 days old. we went to the store (BRU) at 1 1/2 weeks old. dinner by 2 weeks. she was perfectly healthy! we had visitors over immediately. kids didn't hold her for about 2 or 3 weeks.

I wouldn't take her out in the extreme heat of the last two days but starting tomorrow it is supposed to be nicer so I would
Same here- and other than a bout of RSV that her loving GRANDMOTHER gave her from her case of Bronchitis, she has been the healthiest baby. I think older people are even more at risk after our incident.

I waited about 6 weeks to take DD to the stores. The only people we really had visit were adults and not many in the beginning. I was really a nervous nelly new mom!

After a week took her to the office. I went to lunch with my dad- she was 2weeks. It was a private place and we were the only ones in the room. A week later my sister came to town and took her shopping at 3 weeks. she didn't fly or be around large crowds until she was 4 months.

I had people over the day both my kids came home and was out and about in the mall and stores right away as well.

I don't remember exactly when I brought my dd out in public but I think if you want to get out of the house, either going for a walk really early or really late should be ok, as long as you cover her so she doesn't get the sun on her. Also if you don't let anyone near her, and wash your own hands before touching her, going to a store/mall at off hours should be okay.
What about going somewhere near the shore/beach, where it's a little cooler, if you're worried about the heat?

I took DD to see Shrek (the first one) when she was 6 days old. She went to my sister's 5th grade graduation at 7 days old. Since I forgot about leaking boobs while pregnant, she went to Target at 3 days old. The way I saw it,they made me drag her out in the COLD RAIN for her first dr. appt. at 4 days old only to sit in the waiting area with all the sick kids and let me hold her in the hospital even though I had a terrible cold, what possible harm was there in taking her out covered up and in a stroller? Guess what? She never got sick...her first cold was at 2 YEARS.
I've taken Lucas countless places as well...lunch, dinner, JFK, field day, family picnic night, the pool, the mall, to the school to pick up DD, the grocery store, softball games....all these places within his first 3 weeks. He's still healthy!!!
