Where did your water break?
As I approach my due date I keep thinking about whether my water will break. For example if it happens at work...who cleans it up? Or if it happens in the car? Or at home....would I need to get rid of my couch or my mattress? Or at the grocery store....cleanup in aisle 6! So if your water broke, where were you? I'm curious if there are any funny stories

Where did your water break?
Thankfully mine broke as soon as I stood up from peeing in the bathroom at home!
Mine was a major gush followed by many more gushes, but I've heard sometimes it is just a slow trickle and other times your water may not break at all until you get the hospital!

For both of my pregnancies, mine never broke. Dr did it at the hospital. We'll see what happens this time around.

Mine broke while I was asleep in bed. It startled me and jolted me out of bed, and sounded like a balloon popped. I quickly ran to the bathroom, leaked all the way there but my bed didn't get wet at all.

In bed while I was asleep - slight break but broke even more when I was at the hospital and they were about to check if it was amniotic fluid.

With my first, my doctor broke it in the hospital when I got to like 8cm. With my second, I had a better doctor that did not break my water, and it broke as DD was coming out. Way better the second time around.

My dr broke mine with DD #1, but I am nervous that it will happen during the work day this time...and I teach middle school!!!

My dr broke mine in the hospital both times, but my SIL's broke in the car on the way to the hospital. My brother had to clean up the mess!

In the hospital on day 2 of my indication. Dr got in there with the crochet hook. I remember with my first, that the nurse told me that only sometime like 13% of woman's water breaks on its own.

I was home, thank goodness! I was laying down in bed watching TV and I felt a bit of pain, thought I had to go to the bathroom. I got up and as I got close to the bathroom, my water broke and gushed all over the place... i'm so thankful I was at home vs. work or anywhere else!

Where did your water break?
At the hospital when the dr did it. I was an induction and I was 4cm and stalled for 5 hours when he did it. I really progressed after that.

First time, it broke on its own in the hospital bed about halfway through my induction. Second time, the doctor had to break it during labor (it took her several tries! She said even though it was bulging she couldn't get it to break easily)

Midnight in bed but the gush happened when I stood up. I was jolted awake by a pop feeling and I got out of bed and then had the gush. My pants got soaked but nothing else

DC #1: on the couch as I was watching TV and laughing. It was a big gush (but only got on my pants & undies).
DC #2: in the hospital. I had gone into labor & they broke it after I got my epidural.

Driving in my car. Thank God it was a lease! It was a huge gush. My mom was screaming "pull over!" But of course I was wearing white pants and there was no way in hell I was pulling over on the side of 110 so everyone could see my soaked fanny while doing a Chinese fire drill. No thanks! As for clean up, my beloved mom did it while I packed my hospital bag. And then I put a full sized towel in my undies for the ride to the hospital. It was a lot of water. Think open Fire hydrant in July in Brooklyn.

I had to walk up and down the hallway in the hospital until it broke. I was a little embarrassed.
