Where do you feed your newborn at night?

Riley is in the room with us so I've been nursing her in our room, sitting up in bed.

The other option would be to go downstairs to the living room to sit on the couch to feed her and I feel like it would be harder to get her back to sleep that way.

But sitting up in bed breastfeeding for several hours of the night is getting old fast...it kills my back...

We would have to do some major room rearranging to get the glider in the room with us...right now the glider is in my older DD's room since Riley's nursery isn't finished yet...

I'm not nursing (we had latch issues so I'm pumping) but I feed ds in our bed. He's also in our room right now so it's just easier, I wouldn't want to move to another location in the house. Like you said I feel like it would be harder to get back to sleep. I have one of those back rest things with the handle on top and the little arms, I use that while I'm feeding him and it really helps my back.

My DS slept in our room for the first 3 months and I just fed him while sitting up in bed. It was just convenient and I didn't want to be walking down the stairs 1/2 asleep with him.

We had the glider in the room.
When I was bfing, sometimes I'd do the lay down type of feeding (sorry i don't remember the name of the position anymore!)

When DD was a newborn I nursed her laying on my side bed. I found it was easier for the the both of us to fall back to sleep. It's easier as your supply increases and you get the hang of it.

We moved the glider into our room for the first 4 or 5 months.

My DD slept in her pack n play in our bedroom for her first two months. I would feed her in the comfy chair in my living room. My bedroom is on the same floor as the kitchen and the living room though so it was very easy

Re: Where do you feed your newborn at night?

I would nurse her laying down in my bed, so we could both fall back asleep easily. Before she was 6 weeks, I would nurse sitting up in bed (so uncomfortable) or go to the glider in the living room. Nursing laying down was a lifesaver and I never stopped once I started ! :)

I actually have the glider in our room and I only used it once or twice! I actually BF him in bed, and I lay down on my side with him next to me. As soon as he is done, I burp him and he goes back into the Rock and Play Sleeper next to my bed.

I've always fed my babies in bed! I sent my husband to the spare bedroom for the first few months so he could sleep through the night. I always turned the TV on, that helped me to stay awake and pay attention to what I was doing!
