I have a mish mosh of bags for grocery shopping. I need to pick up some more bc half of them are torn or the bottom piece is broken.
For other shopping I use envirosax. They're big and strong but roll up tiny so I can keep a few in my bag.

I got ones from rue me. I like them because they fold up really small and you can keep them in your purse.

Usually I buy the plastic ones at the register because I always forget to bring the damn bags in from the car. No idea where we got those. They are old

Home goods
I have one canvas bag I got for free a while ago that I use for all my meat. So I can wash it if anything spills.

I have picked them up at a bunch of places over the years. Food stores, Target, Home Goods, Target, TJ Maxx, Trader Joes, Groupon.
Also, going to work conferences, I always take the bags at the information booths and use those.

I have some nice ones from Thirty One. I would say about 50% of the time I remember to bring them in.
Today at Target I DID remember, and didn't do self check out this time. I put my bag open at the collection area. The cashier put my stuff next to my bag. I said "Oh, I didn't realize we have to bag our stuff also!". Ridiculous.

Right? Ridiculous. Pay for the bags oh and bag them yourself too. Next they will be charging is you need to use the restroom.

I bought bags have bags in my car never remember to bring them in the store with me. I live in suffolk on the border I do my food shopping in nassau most of the time and this was before the 5 cents bags. So I don't need them for food shopping most of the time but I can guarantee you that when I do I will not bring them in!!
I always forget when I walk into target, dollar store etc that I need to be bring a frigging bag in. Maybe when I actually put the ones I just bought that fold up really small in my purse I will remember to have one.

Have some old plastic ones from Waldbaums. Love these because they have long handles and are strong. Easy to wipe clean too.
Also have ginormous plastic ones from BJ's. A couple of Ikea bags. DH bought some online, haven't used them yet.

My former boss gave this to me as a gift and it folds into a small pouch so it's always in my purse. I can machine wash it too.

I noticed this too everywhere you have your own bag they aren’t bagging. Guess I’ll hold up the line! When I have the twins with me if I have to bag everything it’s goung to take me forever!

Welcome to my world! It’s a fine art of getting your stuff in time and packed the way you like it. What I do it arrange it how I like it packed on the belt. Then I pack it. It’s also kind of a race because the next person will sort of just “push” (not literally) you out of the way if you aren’t done in time. It’s a personal space issue. I’ve actually started doing it, too. I have to or else I won’t be able to be done in time. It’s probably why people here go shopping a few times a week.
Oh and don’t get me started on paying for the restroom . That sucks here!

I haven’t had someone bag my groceries in years. And I’d rather do my own. I can bag faster than them ring up and bag.

I have a tote of totes from conferences, schwag bags from businesses that give them away, Trader Joe's insulated bag- the blue one, and some 31 bags. All different sizes... I may be a bag lady.

Fair enough. But if you are still bagging it up, the cashiers just start on the next person. Leaving you the mess of sorting out what is yours, etc. There simply is no waiting. When they ask for the money and if I’m a bit slow, I give myself a few seconds, but OMG the sighs I hear.

Re: Where is everyone buying bags to use in stores?
Sometimes I leave my shopping cart in between me & the next person, especially if they've been standing too close. I have a bit of a time reaching over to put m y bags in, but PERSONAL SPACE in that moment is so important to me.
