Same here. We're already out pretty far east and DH commutes into Manhattan everyday. But I'd love to be out very far out and have a barn with horses connected to my property. A girl can dream right??

If money were no object - Jericho or Muttontown. Big homes. Best schools. Not far from the LIE. Im easy to please. I am also preferential to North Shore Nassau County

Sayville. I grew up there and never thought I'd ever miss it but I do. It was such a great community to grow up in. Plus the town is so cute and awesome.

Exactly where I am right now... Bayville. I love the beaches, the boardwalk, the friendliness, the fact that everyone knows everyone. It was always my husbands dream to live here and now that I'm here I know why. I love it and wouldn't ever move away.

OB is affordable. The Cove is probably not!
I live in the OB area now, love it here. Would definitely stay local, but would prefer a house on the water - so Oyster Bay Cove, Mill Neck, Laurel Hollow. Don't get me wrong, the Brookvilles aren't too shabby either!

Whitestone, Queens where I live now.
If it HAD to be Nassau or Suffolk--Manhasset.
Reasons, grew up in Whitestone and I love it, work nearby and DH's commute to NYC is great. Many family & friends are here.
Manhasset bc it is gorgeous and close to Whitestone

forest hills gardens, my friends live there and I'm so jealous  but since that is not long island, my next choice would be manhasset since it's close to queens /city. DH commutes a couple times a week into the city

I love living in Northport. I wish we had a bigger place, and we didn't rent, but I absolutely love it here.
The only other place would be Shelter Island. We have a house there and it's my happy place. It would be completely inconvenient to live there for us right now, but in my fantasy land, I would move there tomorrow!
ETA - a close second would be Sag Harbor!

I'd stay on my exact street in Centerport - but move across the street so we'd have a private dock.
Great neighborhood, great schools - and super easy access to both Northport and Huntington. Even my commute to NYC is bearable (usually).
Couldn't be happier!

Right where we are is just fine with me
We both grew up here, graduated from the same HS (as well as my mom grew up here & graduated from the same HS too!!) and now DS will go to the same elementary school DH went to & the same HS his grandmother, great aunts & uncles, aunts, uncles & parents graduated from!!!

North shore, on the water somewhere between Huntington - Northport. Love the area, the homes, the Main St. villiage areas. DH's commute would be shorter, we would still be withing 30 minutes from our families, and my commute would be less than a 15 minute drive.

#1 choice would be back to my hometown of Northport.
I also love, Sayville, Islip, & Cold Spring Harboor.
I guess basically anything with a quaint Main St./village

as much as I love Setauket
I would and I am planning on moving west- still on the northshore-
huntington, commack, haven't really figured it out yet- I have about 18 months
and with my life- in 18 months I could be in a totally different place
but the plan is condo, northshore- hopefully built with in the last 20 years- gated community

I grew up out there - went to WHBHS! I love it out there too, my parents are moving in Aug/Sep because my dad is retiring!!
