Which arrangement looks better and/or is more practical?
We are decorating a few rooms at once and am having trouble making decisions! I hate this! I need to hire Candice Olsen to come and take care of everything for me.
1) Wine bottle shelf on top, wine glass shelf on bottom
2) Wine bottle shelf on bottom, glasses on top
3) Staggered
I am leaning towards choice #1 but am hesitating for some reason to put them up.

I like choice #1. I think it looks better, plus easier access to the WINE! No chance of knocking over glasses as you slide out a bottle.

I like 2 better. Like the flat of the wine bottle shelf as the last thing seen. I dont like seeing the glasses at the bottom of pic 1.

I like the look of #2 better, but the practicality of #1. The first thing I thought when I saw #2 was the wine glasses being broken/chipped.

Re: Which arrangement looks better and/or is more practical?
I wouldn't do choice #2 and here's why:
If you or someone else isn't careful when taking a bottle off the shelf, they could bang it into the wine glasses. I know I personally tend to get more careless when reaching for that second bottle of wine.

I like#1 but only if you plan to have some type of furniture under it. I could see people walking into them otherwise.
#2 I agree with this poster that the glasses could get chipped however, you could just hang them with a bigger space between the two and that would solve the problem.

pottery barn.
and yes there will be furniture underneath.
we are going with choice #1... it was my favorite way all along and i'm glad to see other people agree. DH likes the staggered look but to me it looks messy that way.

Re: Which arrangement looks better and/or is more practical?
#1
It just seems easier not to have the wine bottles at eye level and to have easier access to the shelf above the glasses.
We have just the wine glass shelf but have it up higher. I wanted to do the #1 look but we have wine storage for a few bottles in the furniture piece below so it didn't make sense to put more on the wall.

Re: Which arrangement looks better and/or is more practical?
def the first one. the image that immediately popped into my head when i first saw the 2nd pic is the bottle smashing the glasses. doesn't look safe to me.
