My Acura MDX has a stowaway 3rd row. While its rarely up, I think its a great option.
This is what we have as well. I have used the 3rd row a bunch of times for kids.

My parents just got the Dodge Durango Citadel and it is AMAZING! 
we just traded in our honda pilot (bad experience!) for this and i LOVE it :)

I just traded in my x5 for an Acadia. The Acadia both 2nd & 3rd row have much more room. Also the trunk in the x5 was basically non existent when 3rd row was up. I have my large stroller in the Acadia trunk with room to spare.

Me too but id label it as a gimmick like a pp mentioned. Even 7 year olds are uncomfortable back there. I hate it!
I also drive an X5. The fact that the third row is small doesn't bother me. I agree with the PP that it's good for short ride. It has definitely come in handy on numerous occassions. If I wanted a larger third row then I would have bought a minivan.

We have the new Highlander - it has a third row. Its tight but if necessary, it would do the trick.
We looked at the new Pilot - really, really nice car with a huge third row. If you are going to use it a lot, I would definitely consider the Pilot.
