Haha too funny. My first car was an 84 mustang with a v6 and it stalled every few blocks too. The car used to die in parking lots all over long island. Thanks to that wonderful CFI fuel injection system.

My grandmother got me a 1995 Nissan Altima when I was 16. It wasn't new, but I LOVED that car, I cried when I had to get rid of it.

Perfect first car. Then when I totalled that, I bought my first new car myself

My Father did.
Because he didn't want me to drive his new car.
My 3 older siblings all dented the family car.
Lets just say the car cost $200.00 and the floor boards were rotten. My feet would get wet if we went thru a puddle.
I bought my next car.

My parents. A red, used Nissan 240Sx. complete surprise, with the red bow in the driveway and all. Only, I came home earlier than planned, and it was still parked up the street....I came in, and like a TOTAL brat said, "Well, the girl up the street just got my dream car!" With that, I went in my room. My dad ran outside, got the car, and pulled it in the drive. Then my mom said, "hey, brat--there's something outside for you!" LOL. I was 19. I wish I had the photo to show. My face was pretty priceless. I have the pics somewhere of me running and hugging my dad. They bought my sister's first car, too. It made them proud to do something for us that their parents couldn't afford to do. We were good kids (despite occasional teen snotty-ness!) and they were happy to do it for us. Both of our first cars were reasonably priced, used cars.

I did along with North Fork Bank. My mom fronted me $2000 for the down payment and I paid her back the minute I got a real job in the working world (I got the car the summer before my senior year in college). 1995 Dodge Neon Baby. She just died a few years ago.

my parents. The deal was from when I was a high school freshman, that if I got a college scholarship, I got a car. Well I did, and I did.
It was 1992, a brand new black Saturn SC2, with a big red bow. I got it Christmas that year. I loved it!

i had saved some money and when i was car shopping with dad he saw that i wasnt going to get a depenable car with the money i saved so my parents put in the rest

wanted to add it was a 1980 brown toyota corolla hatchback. At the time it was 5 years old. I couldn't afford collision so I just put the bare minimum of insurance on it. I totalled it less than a year later and still had to pay the loan. I got another car and that turned out to be a lemon.
For my high school graduation gift, my parents gave me 4 new tires it needed badly. I paid $2800 for the car.
