Who is buying your furniture?
Just curious...
I think me and DH are buying ours, my mother wouldn't be able to afford it, plus she is paying for my shower.

Granted, we don't need much, just a crib as I will be using the dressers I currently have in what will be the baby's room.

We are buying it ourselves also. I've been  one day I'll wake up and there will be a money tree in my back yard

My Mom bought my cribs and mattresses-they are from JC POenney and cost 199 ea. The mattresses were about 150. My MIL bought our bedding and glider. We are buying a dresser on Craigslist and refinishing it and lining the drawers-our changing pad will go on that.

My dad was generous enough to offer to pay for the baby's furniture. He is retired and on a very budgeted income, so i know this was a stretch for him to pull off but he insisted. We made a deal that we would buy the crib and he bought the dresser and changer.

We bought it, but my parents gave us a check to cover half of the cost. It was my "shower" gift along with the shower and tons of clothes.

My Mom bought our crib, which was only about 300 bucks plus shipping, tax etc. I think we're buying our own dresser/changer. My Mom is the only Grandparent  . DH's father lives in Chile and is terminally ill.

My in-laws have offered to buy the crib and my parents had a custom closet put into the room. We'll just need to get one dresser but my mom has said she would get that too. This is going to be one lucky baby!

My parents bought DD# 1's and they also bought DD #2's. It's the crib, dresser, changing table and mattress.

We were very lucky that the grandmoms offered to buy the furniture. We went with a very reasonalbly priced set because we know $ is tight for them.

My parents bought DD her set - but we bought DC#2's set. My IL's don't help us at all and we didn't feel right about having my parents buy another set.
Honestly though my parents asked us what they could help us with when we had DD- and they suggested the furniture. Before this board I hadn't met anyone or heard of grandparents buying furniture - but then again before this board I had never heard of putting furniture on a registry either.

We are so very lucky that my parents are buying us the cribs, my grandparents the dresser, and very good friends of the family the glider.
I am so overwhelmed by everyone's generosity, all the way around.

I love our furniture, but it was quite expensive- I am so thankful that our parents were so generous...
My parents bought us the crib and the armoire
My In laws bought us our glider
we bought the dresser/changing table
My parents paying for my shower with I think some help from MIL and FIL.
Mother and Father have already begun buying many other things for our little girl too... they are so excited to be grandparents!

DH and I bought our own. Our parents arent really in any financial position to help. MY FIL though has mentioned several times if we need help getting anything to let him know. I just dont want to rely on others if not needed.
