just keep feeding him and when you are not BF the baby pump, and /or when your son is done , try to "empty" your boobs by pumping. More you stimulate more milk you will produce. heating pack or a hot shower is good too before pumping. Drink lots of water , more then you would normally drink. I did have a LOT of milk , but sometimes when my supply decreased that's all I did. I never took anything (I'm was too worried to take anything while I was BF, even if it was natural )
I also just found this :

if I can't get any more production within the next week or so, I may have to give up. I am going back to work in 3 weeks and have NOTHING for him during the day while I am gone thus far.
please say a few cheers for us. TIA
Jess, to increase production in addition to the fenugreek (2 capsules 3x per day - unless you start to smell like maple syrup you're not taking enough) and the tea, you have to nurse/pump more. In a different post you mentioned supplementing. If you want to increase your supply to BF, you have to stop supplementing. BM works on supply and demand - the greater the demand, the greater the supply. The more you supplement the less milk you will produce.
DD was EBF until 14 months when I introduced cow's milk 1x per day. She self weaned at 20 months. I went back to work when she was 12 weeks. It is possible if you work at it.
HOWEVER - if all the effort is making you miserable, give up. Happy mommy=happy baby.
I pump about 10-11 times a day, and I give Lucian the breast as well. I don't feel comfortable not supplementing his feedings when I know there is not enough. as it stands, I am draining both breasts every 2 to 2.5 hours.
did all of my negatives make a positive there? I am so. very. tired.
Question - when you say draining every 2 - 2.5 hours, is that b/c DS is at the breast, or b/c you are pumping that often?
The pump will never ever be as efficient at draining as DC is/will be, so if you pump and get 2 oz, that is NOT what DS is getting, he is getting more.
Second question - how do you know he isn't getting enough when he is at the breast? I think it safe to say that every BFing mommy convinced herself in the first few weeks that their DC wasn't getting enough at the breast, especially when looking at how little came out while pumping. IT IS NOT A FAIR COMPARISON. I saw a different post wherein you mentioned DS was falling asleep at the breast but when you tried to remove him he started sucking again. There is a difference between that reflex sucking, and suckling. A pacifier might help to distinguish between comfort sucking and nourishment suckling.
