winter jacket sizing
So I went to the gap to buy one of the warmest jackets for my dd 18 months. Yes she is tall and a little chubby but she wears mostly 24 month clothing... so I bought a 2t jacket and it was too small. I went back and exchanged it for the 3t and it is still snug when zippered. She was wearing a sweatshirt under it, but in the winter she will be dressed that way. I cannot imagine buying a 4t , the sleeves will be super long.... do the gap jackets run small? Any suggestions on jackets that run bigger?

Re: winter jacket sizing
Funny, I had this problem with Gap's barn jacket for DD. That's thinner than a big winter coat. She easily fits into their 12-18 month clothes and will for a while. I ordered the 18-24 month size for the jacket, and it was snug, with just a thin long-sleeve shirt underneath. It was very weird. It was kind of a stiff jacket so that didn't help, but still it was weird. I ended up getting a cute, simple one at the Carter's outlet.

Re: winter jacket sizing
I had that issue with the Gap barn jacket too. DD is 23 months but still can even fit into some 18-24 month gap clothes. Yet I ordered the wrong size in the Gap barn jacket (4t) because they didn't have her size and i wanted to use my coupon, and I tried it on her just to see and it did button but the arms were soooo long. But i thin kthe 3T would have just fit - wierd jacket.

Re: winter jacket sizing
In general I find the Gap warmest jacket sizing weird. My DD wore 3T last year and fit in a 3t coat. The year before she wore 2T and fit in a 3T coat (they were different coats) so some are cut different. The 3T she wore when she was 2T was a brown one with the pink lining and fur so those are definitely cut different than the other WJ.
Maybe your DD's coat is just cut shorter. I don't care for that style really, esp for a small child. The longer one keeps them warmer esp in the waist area.
