Re: words / phrases that drive you nuts
I also hate when you're in a store and the cashier says "Can I help who's next?" Makes my skin crawl.

Re: words / phrases that drive you nuts
I'm not a big fan of: "That's/It's Fabu!" "That's/It's Gorgy!"
My biggest pet peeve is when people spell separated as seperated.

I can't stand when people say they live "IN" an island. You cannot be IN an island, you have to be ON it.

This is true for Long Island; that most people say "On" Long Island but not Manhattan or Staten Island - then most people say "In"

My SILs always say when they are coming here that they are "IN" Long Island visiting their nephew.
Maybe b/c they live ON Staten Island

Is there a right and wrong?
I know I either say I'm from LI or I live "on" LI but when it comes to NY I say I'm either from NY or live "in" NY.
So which is correct?

Re: words / phrases that drive you nuts
Someone mentioned this already but I DESPISE "with that being said" or "having said that". I just don't see the point of it and it seems to have suddenly come out of nowhere. I've only heard it the last two years or so.
I also don't like when people say mani/pedi instead of manicure and pedicure.
