Re: Working moms - dinner question
DH actually cooks. He usually gets home earlier then me but we do alot of precooked things..chicken fingers, pierogies (SP) or things quick on the grill like hamburgers etc. Our dinners don't take longer then 30 min to make

Re: Working moms - dinner question
It's so hard. We get home around 6:45pm. We feed DD, play with her bathe her, and put her to bed at 8pm. Most of the time we order out.

Re: Working moms - dinner question
I only work 2 days a week, but they are 12.5hr shifts, so I'm not home until 745pm. My DH does cook, a little I always joke that the pizza guy knows when i'm working b/c my husband orders! Chicken cutlets are really quick and homemade mashed potatoes take like 25mins., they are really good with leftovers, and homemade chx soup freezes real easy and i just add macaroni while its cooking.

Re: Working moms - dinner question
We have a Super Suppers like place near us in NJ that I use religously.
It's usually less than $20 for a meal that feeds all three of us and they all take under 30 minutes.
We swear by them.

I try really hard to cook every night....what I've found helps is to have a lot of frozen meat choices on hand. Then I'll atke one out the night before to defrost in the fridge and I can make something quick when I get home. Most of the time, I'm too exhausted to cook though....
I agree.. I freeze a couple of meats every week. Usually chopped meat or chicken
How about grilled chicken? I marinade chicken in the AM.. and throw it on the girll at night. Cant beat it!!!

Re: Working moms - dinner question
All our meals are quick and easy.
Some things DD has: -Grilled chicken (my DH barbeques 5 or 6 pieces at a time so it lasts for a few days) -Lots of frozen stuff (almost all DD's veggies are frozen - I just stick them in a pot and very quickly steam/boil them - takes literally 5 min) - veggie burgers, chicken nuggets ... -Grilled cheese -Turkey dogs -Hamburger/turkey burger/bison burger, etc. -Yogurt -Always fresh fruit -Add applesauce to anything and it's a meal -Mac & cheese (with added veggies)
Hope that helps.

Re: Working moms - dinner question
I cook almost every night - probably 4-6 nights a week. Sundays we usually go to my In Laws for supper and I will usually work late at least one night and order in for the boys. But other than that I get home at 6:30/7 and start cooking. We sometimes don't eat until 8 - and that sets the night back a bit - but we do our best!
Our quick list is: Turkey tacos Turkey chili Burgers & fries Chicken cutlets in a variety of ways Pasta.
I sometimes make food on Sunday so Rob can pop it in the oven before I get home.
