Would you bring your child to this party?
If my DD was used to her 7:00 bed time, like your DD is, I would not bring her. She'd be miserable all night and that would make for a miserable night for me and DH.

Re: Would you bring your child to this party?
If it was my child's grandparent I would assume that I'd be bringing my dd's. I know it's rough that it's a Sunday, but my kids, even though they have normal routine bedtimes, have from day one become accustomed to family get-together that run late.

Would you bring your child to this party?
Depends on the kid. My daughter didn't go to bed til 8:30/9 when she was that age and would sleep anywhere. I could push her in the stroller and she'd be out at the party so I would bring her.

Would you bring your child to this party?
My DH's family is Russian and they often have birthday parties at restaurants in Brooklyn. We don't have any one to watch DS - 2 years old- since DHs parents are our only baby sitters so he's been partying since 5 months old. It is hard sometimes but in that culture it's normal to have thr whole family together like that.

She's crazy... you're not.... I think that grandparents sometimes forget what it was like to be a parent of a very young child.
This And if your kid is tired and a mess, the LAST thing you want to deal with is family all up in their face wanting to know why little so and so isn't performing for them. believe me.. been there done that and you made the right choice to leave them at home! you won't enjoy yourself either..

Re: Would you bring your child to this party?
Nothing wrong with keeping your kid at home. Then you don't have to worry about crankiness & you'll have a better time & you know the baby will be well rested. Me personally, for a family party I'd probably bring them & leave when they start to fall apart. But I'd probably spend half the time wishing I'd been able to leave them home
