Re: Wow... such early bedtimes!!!
I work FT, DS is a little over 3 years. He goes to bed at 9, occasionally earlier, but generally at 9. He can sleep till 7:30 though (and he's not an early riser so it works for us).
When I was a SAHM, he was going to bed a little earlier, but not much--8:30. When he was very little he did go to bed at 7:30, but that changed around 2 years.

Re: Wow... such early bedtimes!!!
I'm a SAHM but when I worked FT, my DS actually went to bed even earlier than now. I worked almost his entire 1st year and his bedtime was about 7:10PM, sometimes even earlier (6:45 even). Both DH and I worked in the city and I got home at 6:30PM if I didn't miss the train. I felt DS needed to be in bed early and made it happen. However, you have other children so I imagine it most be difficult. Personally however, I'm a big believer in the importance of sleep and early bedtimes. I think 9:30-10 for bed is much too late for a child, this in my opinion is more appropriate for someone who's 13/14. It sucked not being able to spend more time with DS but we did it anyway.

Re: Wow... such early bedtimes!!!
I work full time and DD goes to bed at 6:45 most nights. We get home around 5.
ETA: this is totally dictated by her. She is a cranky animal if I try to keep her up much longer. I am hoping that by next year, her bed time is later so we have some more time together after work.

Re: Wow... such early bedtimes!!!
I work full time but I get home between 3 and 3:30 pm. DS goes to bed between 7 and 7:30 pm and is 22 months old. I go to bed early too since I leave the house at 6 am so I like him to go to bed early.

Re: Wow... such early bedtimes!!!
I am a ptwm and 18mo DS goes to bed every night at 7pm. That being said, we do not have as elaborate bedtime rituals as others do. I also do not give DS a bath everynight (and usually skip it on my work days (thursdays and fridays). I typically get home at 5:30ish and always make something quick and easy those nights...chicken cutlets, hamburgers, etc. We eat by 6ish and still have about an hour before bedtime.

Re: Wow... such early bedtimes!!!
My son is 14.5 months and goes to bed between 8:30 and 9. He always has. We've always just followed his cues when he got tired. He wakes up between 7 and 7:30 for daycare.

Re: Wow... such early bedtimes!!!
I work full time and don't get home until about 5:30ish. We do dinner, showers, etc., and Chase (10 months) is in bed at 6:30pm every, single night and my almost 5 year old is in bed 7:15pm school nights and 8pm weekends and vacations. Honestly, I make getting them to bed on time a priority because then I can decompress from the day, tidy up, make lunches, do work if need be, catch up with my sister on the phone, etc. Plus, I am on my own at night to put them to bed, so if we didn't have such a strict routine, my life would be chaotic.

this is similar to me...i get home earlier from work with my kids around 3:30 but they are in bed NO later than 7/7:15. i am VERY strict about it for the same reasons and they are so exhausted from being in daycare all day and not napping so well etc.. my kids are almost 2 and 4.

Re: Wow... such early bedtimes!!!
it definitely doesn't have anything to do with me being a SAHM - my boys go to bed at 7:00pm bc they literally cannot keep their eyes open any longer. i have tried to keep them up longer, it just doesn't work. they made their own bedtime! they also get up between 5:30am and 7:00am depending on the day - and again, i cant make them sleep any longer in the morning!

Re: Wow... such early bedtimes!!!
Yes I am a SAHM. Also my DH works 5:30 to 1:30. So he is home by 3pm. I don't know how working moms do it.
