WR - Did you attend your cocktail hour?

They were discussing this on LIW (for the 1000 time) and it always seems that I am in the minorty. I didnt attend our CH but our BP did. DH and I were taking pics during that time and we wanted to make our entrance into the room the first time that everyone sees us.

how about you guys?

We were supposed to. The photographer promised our portraits would take 30 minutes. They took an hour and a half. We missed the whole thing. Chat Icon

Re: WR - Did you attend your cocktail hour?

I had them bring us the food first (I made out a list of what we wanted) - ate that real fast - and then had about 45 mins in cocktail hour.

we did- but spent most of the time in our bridal suite actually. The first 1/2 of the cocktail hour we were taking pics outside and then we walked thru a few times... on the way to and from the bridal suite.

Re: WR - Did you attend your cocktail hour?

We did and there was just as much fanfare when we walked into our reception as there would have been had we not gone to our CH. If your DJ or band is good, they get the crowd going BEFORE you walk in.

Re: WR - Did you attend your cocktail hour?

Yes..most of it. We took 2.5 hrs of pictures before the ceremony so we wouldn't miss a thing. Also, we didn't want to be dragged out of the room during the reception, so we got it all out of the way.

People saw us at the ceremony anyway. Coming into the reception room was very exciting. I don't think it detracted from us being at our cocktail hour. Also, we got a lot of the hellos out of the way.

Re: WR - Did you attend your cocktail hour?

We attended the last half hour. I was so happy we did- I got to mingle with everyone and say hello so that I didn't have to do it during the wedding. We had a great time.

We extended our cocktail hour to an hour and a half so we could make sure we got to go there. Spent to much money on the wedding to miss it.

We did. We wanted to enjoy everything, and spent a lot of the cocktail hour greeting everyone so that we could just have fun at the reception instead of making the rounds then.

Re: WR - Did you attend your cocktail hour?

We had every intention of being there. Unfortunately, our ceremony started 1/2 hour late, and that just pushed everything back. My mom brought us plates of food while we were taking pictures, but we really wanted to mingle with our guests.

Yes we didn't want to miss it and it was great! We also got to mingle with a lot of our guests at that time so there was more dancing for us during the reception! :)

we were supposed to, and we would have - had our photographer not decided to drive a different route from the limos, from the church to the RH, and getting himself stuck in trafficChat Icon
