Missed the whole thing, I heard it was great. Our guests are still talking about it almost 4 years later. Our photographer promised us we would see it too, and we did not. We did get to peak our heads in for all of 2 seconds.

We did...we actually used that time to go around to everyone and say hello that way we didn't have to go to the tables durning the actual reception and it worked out great.

ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY!!!!!
Not only is it the best food - people spend, on average, so much for that one day that - in my mind - I want to be present for as much as I can of it! I wanted to truly enjoy it all, take it all in, see it all, etc.
BTW - I ate like a PIG on my wedding day lol - I made sure that I tried EVERYTHING!

No. It was an morning ceremony/afternoon reception so that's when the family portraits were.

YES we did and I insisted on it. We made sure that all major pics were done before the CH so everyone including myself, dh, BP and parents

Yup. I think we missed like 15 minutes taking some pictures with DH's mom (she didn't come over with us early with us, so we took her pics after the ceremony)
I was so happy we went. It was so fun!

we were at ours. We had so much time in between the ceremony and the reception that we were able to get most of our pics out of the way. We paid for the wedding ourselves and we wanted to enjoy every minute of it!!!

I attended my cocktail hour for about a half hour and am happy I did. I got to see a lot of people and did not have to go table to table.

We took our pictures prior to the cocktail hour so our BP could attend. We took a couple of family pictures and the DH & I went to the cocktail hour for 15-20 minutes.

That is exactly what we did. We had to finish up some of our pics the first half that didn't get done before the ceremony.

We did. We wanted to enjoy everything, and spent a lot of the cocktail hour greeting everyone so that we could just have fun at the reception instead of making the rounds then.
That was us too...
I didn't want to be away from everyone...the cocktail hour gave us time to say hello to everyone and instead of going around to the tables during the reception, we were on the dance floor having fun!

Absolutely, we would never have missed it :) We had an opportunity to say hello to eveyrone so we could really party and have fun at the reception.

we wanted to...but we didnt make it - our BP was able to; we took family pics at that time. it POURED our wedding day, so it took longer than expected to get to the RH.
