Re: WR - Did you attend your cocktail hour?

Yes. I am glad we did, for tons of reasons. The reason that comes to mind right now is that I was glad we got to see the cocktail room set up for us with the stations we picked.

Re: WR - Did you attend your cocktail hour?

Yes, we did.

We took pictures before the ceremony at Old Westbury Gardens (gorgeous place :lovesick), and then we had some time at the hall for pictures with the immediate family before the Ketubah signing and the ceremony at the hall.

After the ceremony was over, DH & I went up to the bridal suite for a few minutes of alone time. They had food in the suite for us, but were were dumb and didn't tell them what we wanted so most of it was stuff we didn't eat (we are both SUPER PICKY eaters, I wish we had thought to give them a list!). We only stayed up there about 15 minutes or so.

Our cocktail hour was awesome, there was no way we were missing it. We had hot dogs & hamburgers in addition to all the regular stuff, 2 of DH's favorite foods in the whole world Chat Icon

Re: WR - Did you attend your cocktail hour?

We missed the first 15 minutes or so, but we attended the rest of it. I didn't eat anything though. I was too busy chatting with guests.

Yes we did. We got to see a lot of people and it made our rouds to all the tables go much quicker.

So glad we did.

Re: WR - Did you attend your cocktail hour?

Nope...but I wish I did. I heard the food was great. By the time we got to the Bridal Suite our very hungry bridal party left us scraps and we were running late so no time to wait for more to be brought outChat Icon

Yes we went. I was able to enjoy it for a while. Then my parent's friend Mrs. Handcuffs got a hold of me. For 15 minutes she talked to me while squeezing my wrists so I could not escape. DH enjoyed it though he was able to escape from her.

No I didnt and thats the way I wanted it. I wanted to make a grand entrance at the reception. DH was able to go down there for a few minutes once we were finished with our pictures.
I saw the room all set up before the guests got there. The staff took me in there to '"approve of the set up".

We made it to part of it, we were late getting back from pictures. I wish I had made the whole thing, more time to say hi to everyone cause God knows there isn't enough time during the receptionChat Icon

Re: WR - Did you attend your cocktail hour?

DH did - I didn't. I was in the bridal suite getting my hair touched up, discussing things with photographer & videographer, and at that time I smoked, so I had a cigarette w/ my MOH.

ETA: I also toured the reception room to make sure everything was set up the way I wanted it (guest book, memory candles etc).

Re: WR - Did you attend your cocktail hour?

I did... I have to say, I almost wish we had stayed in the bridal suite longer and just had staff bring us CH food.

I got dragged in a MILLION different directions and barely got to eat anything. I wish I had spent at least the first half of the CH in the bridal suite with DH, eating. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

ETA -- we had AMAZING staff who went and got us whatever food from the CH we wanted -- but it was tough to hold 5,000 conversations and eat. We went to every single table at the reception, anyway, of course...

I was adamant about going to the CH, but I think it would have been better if we hung out in the suite.

Re: WR - Did you attend your cocktail hour?

We had our own cocktail hour with our bridal party. No one saw us until we were introduced into the reception.

Yes we didn't want to miss it and it was great! We also got to mingle with a lot of our guests at that time so there was more dancing for us during the reception! :)

Re: WR - Did you attend your cocktail hour?

No..... we had a HUGE bridal suite with a dining room. We advised the BM ahead of time of items from the CH that we wanted. We had a rolling bar w/bartender in the suite, many hot selections from the CH, raw seafood bar, crab legs/lobster tails. No one from the bridal party went down to CH since we had our own CH in the suite!

ETA: We were so happy to be able to sit, relax and enjoy all the CH food~It was very important to us. We also had over 300 guests and if we atttended CH, we would of never been able the enjoy all of the food!

Re: WR - Did you attend your cocktail hour?

Yes! I even had an extended cocktail hour to make sure I didn't miss out. I also didn't plan on going around to tables during the reception so I made sure I spoke with everyone at the cocktail hour.

We attended the last half hour. I was so happy we did- I got to mingle with everyone and say hello so that I didn't have to do it during the wedding. We had a great time.

Yep. Same here. We finished pics, went to C.H. then went to the suite for a few mins. with the B.P. to start lining up.
