No, and that was the way we wanted it. We had several trays of food brought to our bridal suite, and it ave us a chance to talk to each other and catch our breath before the reception

YUP we went. I took pics for the first half and then went to the cocktail hour. I WAS STAAAARVING!!!!! We mingled but then a staff member planted my butt in a chair and brough me over two of everything they were serving and some stuff from the the stations.. I ate and chatted with a few people. It was awesome... OHHH I MISS MY WEDDING!!!! I am a little pms-y and little tipsy from dinner so now I might cry!!!

We were there. I had a little food, but then got scared of spilling on myself. But what I had was gooooooood! The CH room was big (in Jericho Terrace) and I didn't make it to the other end because I was talking with everyone. It was really nice.

We did at the very beginning and our bridal party did for the entire time. DH & I spend about 15-20 minutes by ourselves in our bridal suite so we didn't stay the entire time. And I agree we paid so much $$$$ there wasn't a part of the wedding I wasn't going to experience.

I attended my cocktail hour. But my wedding was a pretty casual kind of affair. I mean - I wore the dress and we had the ceremony and a reception - but I was more interested in having a PARTY than having a wedding. So I went to cocktail hour and jammed with the steel drum band and talked to my guests and munched on the fantastic food. We used it as a 'receiving line' since we decided to forgo the official recieving line after we got married.

I wouldn't change a thing!

ETA: Actually - one of the reasons we have so few formal portraits is because the cocktail hour was so good - nobody wanted to leave to take pics! Including me! I kept ducking the photog so I could chat and eat!

We took pics before the ceremony so that everyone could attend the CH. We did not want to miss anything.

HELL YEAH!!!! We took pics at the beginning, but the photographer knew we wanted to attend! I mean all the friggin money spent...I was eating at the CH!!!! Plus, I wanted to say hello to as many as I could there cause I was spending my reception dancing the night away!!

absolutely! i even yelled at the photographer because he was taking too long and i wanted to be at as much of it as i could.

We had planned to attend our cocktail hour but ended up not attending. It was a really really hot day and after we finished the pictures I was so hot and I wanted to freshen myself up. I just needed to cool down and relax cause I was kind of dizzy. We really wanted to go though.

Nope, but we got to see it before the guests arrived, at which point our BM asked us what we wanted brought to our suite.
Plus the fact that we got married at Chateau Briand and were coming up through the floor, I didnt want to "ruin" that moment

We had our pictures taken before we got married! We were sure going to attend the cocktail party. We paid for everything ourselfs. We were not going to miss a thing!

Yes - we attended!!! I saw DH BEFORE the ceremony just so we could take our pics & we could attend. I didn't want it any other way!

partially- probably only 20-30 minutes since we had the boat ride. We had our reception at Chateau La Mer.

I do kind of regret not being able to enjoy the cocktail hour- went so fast! I hardly ate anything! Though they did bring us plenty of hors dourves when taking pics.

We were there for a little more than half of it (after finishing pictures). I'm glad I got to be there for some of it.

I got married in 2004 and it was my second wedding (DH's first). I learned a lot from my first wedding. This time around, I spent less time worrying about the pictures and spent more time enjoying the party. So, yes...we attended the cocktail hour and took all our pics before the ceremony.

Then we partied all night and had THE BEST time ever!

I really don't feel like it took anything away from our 'entrance'. It was really fun to mix and mingle with the guests as they arrived at the hall...the night goes so fast. Try to enjoy every minute.

I wanted to, but the ceremony at the church took much longer than expected (priest said a half hour and he took an hour!), and in between the church and the reception we went to Planting Fields for pictures, so we just didn't have the time. In fact, we were late for the reception as well
