I totally get where you're coming from!! Chat Icon

I've been on plan for 3 years now and I'm a lifetime member. I still have my little book and I still track.

You could eat sweets like everyone else and not count/track....but you won't be as healthy or in shape. You could end up losing all your hard work.

Prior to the plan change, I was on the old plan for 2 years. After I became lifetime I was so into the plan and had everything down that I didn't even have to count. I could just judge what I could/couldn't eat. Since the new plan I've gone back to tracking since I'm not familiar with the new points system yet. But I feel like once you do it long enough, it becomes part of your lifestyle and a habit. You don't need to track after it becomes that habitual.

First off breathe Chat Icon It's okay, really it is.

When you hit lifetime, you will be adding points back on for maintenance. You will be able to eat a little more. Will you count every single point for the rest of your life? Probably not. Will you go up some days and down on others. Sure! That's what maintenance is! Chat Icon

I was at goal for a year before getting preggo with DS. To be honest with you, I didn't really track. I was still mindful and I made a point to weigh-in once a month. Some people find weighing in every week helps them stay on track. What's most important is being able to live with the program. To me, that meant counting points when the scale was creeping up and letting myself indulge a bit when I had special occasions or days when I was simply hungry.

It's hard to lose but it is much harder to maintain. I know it's frustrating!! It is a process. However if you think you are doing everything right, maybe it's a good time to get checked out.

linda, take it one day at a time Chat Icon

eventually it will become second nature and you wont think about it everyday. you will learn to make healthier choices without even thinking, smaller portions without even thinking...
