WWYD - we have two communion parties and a newborn..
Our LO was born a week ago and we just got invites to DHs nephews communions, one on May 8 (mothers day ) in LI and one on May 15 in NJ. I told DH that we should go to both because they are our nephews but I don't want to take a one month old to two parties before he has any vaccines so we will leave him with my mom.
On top of it all, this will be my first mothers day and I won't even get to spend it the way I want bc of the party
WWYD? would you go or not go? I don't want DHs family thinking I'm keeping the baby from them by not bringing him by just going with DH...

I would go and take the baby. If hes in the car seat/stroller he should be fine. Jsut dont be passing him around or letting people get in his face. I think beause its a nephew you have to go, even though its mothers day

I would go and bring the baby. Make sure everyone washes their hands before holding him, and if anyone is sick, do not let them hold the baby.

Re: WWYD - we have two communion parties and a newborn..
Thanks ladies! I'm going to see what DH wants to do and we'll take it from there, we are def going, that's not a question, just have to figure out what's best for the little one.
I'm being a paranoid first time mom and I know for a fact he won't be left alone in his stroller, we're a big italian family who will be passing him around and I don't want to be put in a position to tell them to let the baby sleep in his stroller. And there will be a ton of kids there....

Re: WWYD - we have two communion parties and a newborn..
Hmmm I can't blame you w/ being nervous about everyone holding the baby but I have to say that everyone ended up holding my DD when she was born in the hospital, home, etc...but I know so many people who are not like that.
As for my personality I would probably just not want to be bothered having 2 parties 2 weekends in a row for my own sanity...but if it were my nephews I would go w/ DH and the baby and just not let alot of people hold the baby, they have to understand that...you can say the truth, the baby has not had his shots yet so the Doctor said to be careful w/ germs, etc....but if YOU and DH are not comfortable bringing the baby then DON'T....i have learned that you have to good what is good for your family and what makes you feel comfortable before others....
