Re: WWYD-14.5 month old nephew not walking and talking.
DS is 14 months old and only says a few words. My pedi said he won't start to worry until he is 18 months old...And I know plenty of kids who weren't walking at that age either and they are perfectly fine now...

I think it's fairly common for boys to reach certain milestones, like talking, on the later side. If the parents aren't concerned, I really don't think you should get involved. Their pediatrician will likely ask questions about walking and talking at the next well visit.
I agree! Honestly I personally wouldnt be concerned either. Boys statistically reach those milestones later than girls and 14 months is still YOUNG!
ETA: I wouldnt necessarily say they are in Denial at this age. They may just truely be laid back enough and feel that his development is fine and he will reach those milestones in his own time.
If he was MY son and he wasnt walking by 18 months I think I would start to be concerned. But as for talking I would personally give him until 2yo until my radar went up.

My baby is 16 months old and babbles, doesn't have any "words" yet. I'm not worried and my pediatrician isn't worried.
