WWYD: Backyard party/alcohol/tweens
I was at a BBQ recently. There was mostly adults and young children. There was 1 tween (11-13'ish). There was a pitcher of sangria on the table near the other drinks. It looked like grape juice/fruit punch.
What would you do if a tween walked up to it and poured himself a glass?
You could obviously taste the alcohol. Not sure if he had parents permission to have some or not.

I would tell him that's for adults under the assumption that he's made a mistake. IMO, it's not for the parent to say, it's for the host/hostess.

I would assume he didn't realize it had alcohol in it and tell him that it was only for adults.

I agree with Barb. I'd absolutely say "Oh.. wait a sec! That's not fruit punch.. it's alcohol!" He may have been getting it for his parents - but I would not feel comfortable watching a child take an alcoholic beverage without at least letting them know it's not for them.
I'd also probably alert the host to the idea that the Sangria might be attracting attention from kids who don't realize it's not for them.
